It would work out better in the long run, if you top stitched the seam allowances at each end of your cord casings. The constant friction of using the cords, will fray the ends with unfinished edges. Lovely work.

Why I haven't thought about adding two wee bits for strings instead of bothering with leaving gaps on the sides for strings and all that?! Thanks so much, it's gonna save so much work and planning!!
