The hardest Platformer can’t have many checkpoints or maybe none. A checkpoint basically splits the level into different parts which are not as hard as the level would be without the checkpoint. Edit: Maybe if you add backtracking add a mechanic and add randomised puzzle elements, you could use checkpoints as an obstacle or setback and make platformer levels very more like Getting Over It.

Saying a playformer level that doesn't have a time limit is the hardest level is kinda not true. Like anyone can beat it if u give them a few hours. It's just like saying "I beat my first extreme" and then it's "I wanna be the guy" like sure it's hard but by no means is your completion equally impressive as beating an actual extreme demon
i mean sure but you can say that for any gd level. like yea anyone can beat something like bloodbath because you dont have an attempt limit. Though i would agree that platformer extremes are easier and take less time that a regual extreme demon, but I think thats just because platformer is new, in a years time iwbtg will probably be seen as a low end insane demon if not hard demon idk
