Sir, I have a question regarding kinetic theory of gases. When calculating the total kinetic energy of a gas, should we always use (f/2)nRT or should we use it only when it says to calculate for 1 mole/1 atom of the gas?
Marlene Dumas, 2019, Portrait of man. In my search for meaning of this work of art the title(if it is correct) kind of distills what I had in mind if I had to believe in the artists best intention, which in hindsight is not the whole truth in literal reference to reality, so I would not call it beautiful by definition "Art is form following function", though if the intention was for a more profound... contemplation this may be the most beautiful painting ever🤣Would be interesting to know the 'motiv' behind this one😅 Prefer more rational type images🖼🙂Thanks for enlightening us prof 🙏
For some reason i would interpret this not as a straingtforward name of the painting says but rather a womans condition portrays someone else that hurt her

If you say so, but I think I would get tired of it if it was hanging in my home. After a while the garish colors seem to intrude into your consciousness. In this case the dissonance is immediate.

Hi sir, I am a 10th grade student from India. I am a big fan of yours. I love physics. Please tell, what is the correct way to study this and how to increase curiosity and understand in depth? Please reply sir. Please
you have 2 options option 1: eat yogurt every day but *never on Fridays* That worked well for Einstein and also for me option 2: Watch all my 94 MIT course lectures. Start with 8.01, then 8.02, then 8.03. Do all the homework and take all my exams. *I guarantee you that you will then do very well on the Physics portion of any freshman college or JEE exam* You will find all information you need on this channel in three playlists "Homework, Exam, Solutions & Lecture Notes". 8.01 & 8.02 will each take about 200 hours, 8.03 about 250 hours.
I did my Physics in India. I was the only Physics student in my batch, so they didn't give me classes, except lab. I had to study on my own and appear for the exams. Back then the Internet wasn't as helpful as it is today and Walter Lewin's lectures were basically my only source of help, but there were some subjects like properties of matter that weren't covered in his classes, and I had a terribly hard time learning them. I'd say use his lectures only to improve your understanding. But that's not enough to succeed in the Indian setting. You have to know how to write for exams. My first semester which was mechanics, I did brilliantly and all my answers were correct, thanks to Walter Lewin's lectures, but I got a 9 out of 60, only because I hadn't written them the Indian way. There is also a huge divide between his lectures and the Indian syllabi. The correct way to study physics is to respect both and do them in parallel with each other. Once you watch Lewin's lectures, the Indian setup will look kinda dull and maybe even backward, but trust me, it isn't. There is so much value in the Indian textbooks. Try to be patient and see their value. I realized it rather late. You have to go to two different classes that only complement one another. Good luck. :)
