I've never heard that siren before. What was it for?

How would it be, if you use the infantry for the halftrack as normal build order and camping at the fuel point of the enemy. When that become Vet1 you could reinforce at them and 1 pioneer as repair would be nice. Is slightly different to vehicle only strat, bc they run out of combat.
camping at the fuel point is always a good idea. in 2on2 this is standard. especially when playing against challengers this is 100% the tactic.
