Cool interview thank you. I saw Joey play live with John Zorn at Jazz in Moers (I think about 2011)..it wat so incredibly exciting and inspiring how he played that free jazz..then i bought more records were he played on.👌👍✌️🙏☯️🎶
So fabulous. As a drummer and teacher only three years younger than Joey, there is so much good in these stories. From the parent lessons to the public school teachers and mentors, really dig this. Also made me realize how in the 60's and 70's there really wasn't so much "genre" -- we listened to Buddy and Kenton and Maynard, but also Led Zep, Jimmi, The Beattles, BS&T and Chicago and everything in between....I mean even the radios mixed so much "genres" -- made me realize how today there too much segmentation so I really liked hearing him talk about that. Great stuff thank you BOTH!
Excellent stuff. Joey is pure musicality and integrity at the highest level. Saw him play a solo concert just with a drumkit: one huge lesson in musicality, dynamics etc. An endless source of inspiration. Long live Joey Baron!
I've been fortunate to see Joey play many times in Boston and NYC in many different situations. On record, there are far too many to note, but I love the stuff he played on Marc Johnson's "The Sound of Summer Running."

beautiful, pablo. thanks!
thanks stephen!!
Wow, ich wusste das nicht mit Robyn Schulkowsky. Sie ist in der neuen musikszene mindestens so hoch angesehen wie Joey Baron in Jazz.
Joey has an amazing discography: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joey_Baron
he sure has!
Who the heck has never heard Louie, Louie?
