How much power did you net out of that setup? What was your max usable rpm? I'm literally getting ready to start on a 2.5 build and I've been super curious what one of the hybrid motors would do with good cams and fuel. Thanks!
191HP at the wheels on a very conservative dyno, and it's done making power by 7k rpm-ish. The midrange punch is kind ridiculous, it's traction-limited in the midrange at most speeds on the street.
Great video, I'm starting to build my own Locost, with a 2016 version of this engine and a NC 6 speed manual transmission. What is your ground clearance?
Thanks, I have just enough that my skid plate just very lightly touches on speed bumps if I'm careful (4-5" if I recall correctly). The suspension is all adjustable so I've had it at a bunch of different heights, but this was the best compromise so that I could still drive it on the street.
There's a RWD Duratec group on Facebook with some UK people doing these swaps and kicking around different options. I made a pipe using exhaust tubing, which brings the rear outlet around to the front of the engine. Works well enough for me, but there are fancier options.
Nice Locost🍺
Thanks, Justin!
Thanks! great vid!
Thank you!

@@FlawlessPlanGarage The engine hangs down from the bottom rails?
Any info on where to find whats needed for the coolant routing on these?
