Guys it’s about her (CINDY) knowing she will die soon and she is very sad That she has to leave her son (which was very young at the time she died) in the world without her. And she wished she could change the future but she couldn’t. She dedicated this album to her son.
a time in Japan during the 70s and 80s where the economy boomed. This caused most households to have extra cash. No wonder Japan had the time to make such good music during this era!
She worked with Tatsuro Yamashita from 1986 to 1989. She was mainly in charge of chorus for recording and concert tours. During this time, Yamashita completed two original albums "Pocket Music" and "Boy in me" and toured 75 times. Her singing voice can be heard on his live album "Joy". from WIKI Japan Did Tatsuro stimulate her potential? After four years under Tatsuro's guidance, she created such a wonderful tune in 1990. thanks a lot for uploading this hidden gem.

I love this song that I just discovered! I left Japan in 92 and didn't have the chance to hear of this back then. Sorry to hear that she has passed. RIP.
Her voice sounds more mature than most of the other females that I've heard singing City Pop. Words really sound that of a mother, which makes the song more beautiful. The album was released in 1990. Maybe she knew about her condition back then, and decided to sing a song that would not make her child feel alone in sad, lonely times.
I wish i was a teen in 80’s in Japan. It’s such a vibe. If any japanese people reading this I want you to know how much i admire your culture, country, foods, songs, animes… I wanna visit Japan so much i hope i will do it some day🙈 so much love from Turkey xx💕
This started out from a random play of "Plastic Love", and now here I am, on my 4th city pop track while doing some paper work. My friends think I have a weird music playlist, where it jumps from electronic dance tracks to these suave city pop songs. To be honest, I'm always going back to my city pop playlist to unwind my stressed out mind. I'm currently working on my dissertation, and it's almost midnight, but I'm not drowsy yet. This music has helped me cope up with my introvert attitude, to still smile always, even though the everyday "slavery" type of living is killing my soul. Thank you city pop and to the other music that I listen to. You are my savior.
Listen to Momoko Kikuchi she’s another Japanese city pop singer from the 80s and 90s but still makes music at 53 years old. Listen to Glass No Sogen by first.
Cindy truly is a woman of mystery. So little is known about her besides the fact that she created so much beautiful music for us to enjoy before she left. And I guess, at least for now, we'll have to be content with that.
I know there's great Future Funk mixes out there. You enjoy those, and it leads to the original. Often, that's where you really fall in love with a song...
I don't know why I always feel like crying when I hear this song. Maybe it's because of how beautiful it sounds, the fact the singer passed away when I was 1 year old, or both.
I really like Japan, from human traditions and even songs of life from the 70's and 80's. The melody is gentle and catchy. Just listening to it, just swaying along, immersed in the music. CINDY's voice is amazing. Thank you very much

I love this! She's got such a lovely voice, it's really smooth and cheery.
Asuka Yosano the funny thing is that the song itself is really sad
@@iiperplexed3136 What's the song about exactly?
is that akiko yosano in your profile pic?? :o
@@thetruej7872 same question
Guys it’s about her (CINDY) knowing she will die soon and she is very sad That she has to leave her son (which was very young at the time she died) in the world without her. And she wished she could change the future but she couldn’t. She dedicated this album to her son.
最近、この曲を知りました😂一度聞いて、大好きになりました🎉ありがとうございます😂毎日、聞いてます😂

I'm going nuts. I can't stop listening to this song.
Who else started out listening to plastic love and the ended up being addicted to this kind of music every since? Just me? Ok
Songs from the bubble era are amazing!
yesss!!!
what is the bubble era please?
a time in Japan during the 70s and 80s where the economy boomed. This caused most households to have extra cash. No wonder Japan had the time to make such good music during this era!
More accurate from the mid 80s to early 90s
Then 1991 came and Japan suffered a state of depression it never really recovered from.
Just somehow it makes me cry while listening to this, knowing that she has passed away and left this for her son...
知られざる神曲
I hope her family knows how much people all over the world love her music today.
She worked with Tatsuro Yamashita from 1986 to 1989. She was mainly in charge of chorus
for recording and concert tours. During this time, Yamashita completed two original albums
"Pocket Music" and "Boy in me" and toured 75 times.
Her singing voice can be heard on his live album "Joy". from WIKI Japan
Did Tatsuro stimulate her potential?
After four years under Tatsuro's guidance, she created such a wonderful tune in 1990.
thanks a lot for uploading this hidden gem.
Every time I listen to this song while walking to my classes it makes me giggle a little. Just because I get the feeling that everyone around me think I'm listening to like Rap but i'm actually listening to this instead. :)
Gracias Cindy por haber existido dándonos el privilegio de haberte escuchado cantar con tu tan hermosa y poderosa voz, nunca te olvidaremos.
Bien dicho.
Searched her up, expecting to see that she's still alive. She died 19 years ago. I'm sad now. Glad you live on in your music, CINDY ; _;
4:19 when the back up singer goes in with the harmony I get chills, best part of the song
She died dude with her children
This music is 30 year-old, but it's a new song to me. I start to fall in love with this in 2020
한국인 발견
굿굿
The blue sky hides in the clouds
Even if the buds wither
If there is a small fountain
I can start it again and again
Continue without fear
Believing in us
In the valley of a cold building
Your voice is heard
I'm sorry but
In tears
I do not even have the power to change the future
But your heart hurt
If you can lighten it
For you ...
Calling from far away
I was struggling but screaming
Depending on your voice
Because I will go there without hesitation
Come to teach me without giving up
Believing in us
All about fighting
Keep telling stories
I'm screaming tears away.
I do not know the meaning of the word
But
Your voice
With the pain brought
Do not forget sorrow
Forever
Where are you?
You are still a small child
Who will protect you?
Is not it?
Even if you get hurt
I love you
Believing in us
The sad days were there
I can not remember anything
That such a day will come
Without hesitation
Thanks man
Thanks for the lyrics
thanks
this was for her son noooooooo
Idg the last verse... What does that mean though, really?
Such a unique and distinctive voice💖 love her Rip love

youtubeありがとう。
I love this song that I just discovered! I left Japan in 92 and didn't have the chance to hear of this back then. Sorry to hear that she has passed. RIP.
너무 좋아요^^
Her voice sounds more mature than most of the other females that I've heard singing City Pop. Words really sound that of a mother, which makes the song more beautiful. The album was released in 1990. Maybe she knew about her condition back then, and decided to sing a song that would not make her child feel alone in sad, lonely times.
I wish i was a teen in 80’s in Japan. It’s such a vibe. If any japanese people reading this I want you to know how much i admire your culture, country, foods, songs, animes… I wanna visit Japan so much i hope i will do it some day🙈 so much love from Turkey xx💕
I am so glad to hear that to me,Japanese. I wish you will spend special time in Japan someday.
this is what you hear when you enter heaven
If so let me die now plzz
that'll be very comforting
Yo hablo español no entiendo nd jaka xd
Na mentira si se
I love you❤❤ hello
Doctor: you have only 2 minutes left
Me: *starting playing 'angel touch'"
Doctor: but it's going 6 minutes
God: I'll wait
This song gives me weird feelings, I want to cry but at the same time I want to dance and sing.
Legends always die early 💟 R.I.P. CINDY, have sweet dreams!
"Dont let me go, I'll show you a sweet dream~"
I imagine myself walking in the streets at night. The moon and the neon lights from the stores bring the light. Melancholic and in love

良い歌じゃないですか!

Often, that's where you really fall in love with a song...
i couldn't have put it any better. It's the same situation as others, Selfish High heels and Dress down was the first to come to mind.
i FOUND DRESS DOWN ON VIMNEO LOL ; IT WAS HARD TO FIND
yup
yes. THANK YOU
Totally agree! It was Yung Bae's "Bae City" that led to Junko's "Bay City" for me
I don't know why I always feel like crying when I hear this song. Maybe it's because of how beautiful it sounds, the fact the singer passed away when I was 1 year old, or both.
Or the fact the song is for her son too
Rest in peace..
Sing a beautiful song in heaven..
Rest in peace Queen...cancer.... Man that's so sad, she has the voice of an Angel
love quarantining and listening to Japanese city-pop, honestly there's nothing better than this
rip Queen and thank you for your amazing songs xx
Man!! Is it just me ..
Or does City Pop hit emotions no other genre can ❤🇯🇵
Agree with you ♡
It’s like another world discovered by only the blessed ones
Absolutely, I love so many genres, but none really hit me in the way City Pop does
i know this is spposed to be an optimistic/happy song but it makes me feel kinda sad...especially after knowing what happened to the singer :( RIP
i feel the same :(
I really like Japan, from human traditions and even songs of life from the 70's and 80's. The melody is gentle and catchy. Just listening to it, just swaying along, immersed in the music. CINDY's voice is amazing. Thank you very much
I can really feel the soul she put into this.
It's a shame she died so young. Rest in peace.
She's so beautiful 😍

Hidden in the clouds blue sky
Also fell onto their buds
If you have a small fountain
Many times I get started
Don't be afraid to continue call
We believe in
To cool buildings
I can hear your voice
Sad but delay
The tears
Not even the power to change the future
But your broken heart
If you can make them
For you...
From a long distance call in continues
And screaming even harder
For your voice
From there go in a heartbeat
Came to tell me to not give up
We believe in
Is that way
The story was and continues to speak
I'm crying tears telling
Do not know the meaning of the word
But
Sound of your voice
Bring pain and
Don't forget the sorrow
Forever
Where are you in
Still a little kid
Protect it, people would
No
It's breaking
Love
We believe in
It was a sad day
I can't remember what one
That such a day will come
Without hesitation
yumikumi2 thanks so much. I just keep singing along
OMG!! YOU ARE MY NEW BEST FRIEND IN THE WORLD!!
Now I can sing along to it while I drive and and those bastards around me with hippity hoppity trash staring at me in confusion.

I've been trying to find this singer since I heard her sing an anime theme song (Urusei Yatsura) when I was a child in the 90s. There's some sort of sad nostalgic sweetness in her voice that floats my boat. Thank you for uploading.
now i wanna check that anime out!
Not only Urusei yatsura but also maison ikkoku by "something in the air"
A timeless song. Thank you, Cindy.

Mayumi Yamamoto "CINDY" was born in the Kanagawa prefecture in May 5, 1958. She started her career in 1984 with the single "Chance on love", followed by 3 studio albums and a compilation album. She was also a lyricist and composer, notably working with Miho Nakayama.
Cindy died of cancer in Los Angeles in December 17, 2001.

It’s weird you cant really find any info on her. This song had a huge impact on me. I really enjoyed listening to this song and then album. I listened to Love Life, and Don’t be afraid. There still more to discover. Including her singles and features. There’s one hidden gem that I really like and it’s from an album called tower of love. The song is touch the sky and I really love that song. I want to see more of her discography and listen to more of her songs. Her voice is one of kind especially since she can mix English and Japanese really well. I just been rambling on but I’m grateful I found this song and the albums she’s created throughout her time. Remembering Cindy on her Birthday today, May 5. It's sad that you are not with us, but your music is Immortal. 💖🎶
This is the best city pop I've ever heard when it comes to rhythm, even better than plastic love.. It's too eargasmic
Try listing to Momoko Kikuchi another Japanese city pop singer from the 80s and 90s. She’s in her early 50s today but still makes music.
