- installing a Full manual valve body kit in our 46re transmission in our 99 dodge ram 1500. This TransGo TFOD-3 shift kit will work for 46re and 47re transmission. Full manual is great for running transmissions with no electrical and having full control of your transmission. If your looking for just a transgo shift improvement kit check it out here: • TWIN Turbo 5.2 Magnum ...

Super excited to see JT has joined another video! I to enjoyed the noise it made 😂😂😂. Loved the video❤️🤙🏼 can’t wait to see a floor shifter in that thing
I know he’s finally back lol thanks buddy! Floor shifter is sweet
Good video 👍 You need a lap top holder for all that tuning you do.
Nhra rule I’m suppose to have one as well lol
I thought about doing this too...I had a reverse manual valve body in the 727 of my old Dart
Reverse manual are sweet! I did it due to use switch over to a aftermarket ecu
@@RacingRamFam Pac makes a kit to eliminate having to flip the switch but, I don't know if it works with the manual valve body or not.
It's funny I'm actually installing a Transgo reprogramming kit in my A518 Friday...now I kinda wish I had went with the manual, lol...it's kinda like driving a sequential transmission to bad we can't just shift up into OD instead of using the switch.
Also, I loved my B&M Quicksilver so much in the old car I bought another for this car...you should check it out if you don't have a shifter yet.
@@BigThomTattoos I tci ratchet shifter just didn’t have time to install it yet! I loved the shift kit when we had Stock trans
your channel has been amazing to watch. Im trying to do a budget build on a 46Rh to handle 600+ trq in a B3500 and its hard to find info out there on whats really needed. Could you go into detail with a video to cover a budget build on a 46rh and the 46re.
Ya I’ll be going through mine this winter!
1st gear might give you some problems. The way first gear was designed to lock up when you manually shift is pretty rough on the bands. If I remember I think you can run into issues with 1st and 2nd overlapping cause manually shifting puts more pressure on first vs auto or even second auto.
Heccin sicc dood!!!
Sooooo heccciiinn siccccc
So you installed one reprogramming kit all ready, does this new kit affect any of the pre-existing holes drilled from the first kit?
Nope just ass more holes with this kit
Just got my trans done in my truck still kinda funny and paid 2700 smh
Dam what happened?
@@RacingRamFam was loosing power going into first infigured it could have been a solenoid but guy at the shop said I needed a whole rebuild.
Could of been LR one way clutch and if that was failing def needs full rebuild. Or if you drive long enough with governer pressure sensor and solenoid out could def cause internal problems
Have you ever had the issue with the transmission going to 4th gear on its own? I have OD and lockup hooked up to pins 6&7 and the grounded to the T case
Ya you have to cut out lock out and overdrive. Otherwise the ecu will ground it out for you.
@@RacingRamFam I have 6&7 hooked up to a toggle switch like you did, I’m starting to think since my transmission cooler line popped off while I was in 4th may have broken the OD solenoid at some point. Cause when it did, the transmission went back to third and I had to fill it up and then that’s when it started going to 4th on its own.
What did u do to fix lockup issue? I installed kit now I’m having problems with tcc staying locked on downshift
Did you ever figure out this issue I’m having the same problem with the truck staying in OD and lockup on its own during cold starts and half throttle take offs
@@Brandon_Jeter yes the brand new tcc solenoid was bad.. I had to warranty it out with a new one.. It was locking up but once locked up it wouldn’t unlock.. tires would screech motor would stall when coming to a stop unless u pull it in neutral..
@@williamblanks8500 I knew it most people were telling me to hook the switch to a ground with no computer so I ran the ground to chassis>switch>8pin connector and then I had a transmission cooler line blow fixed it and ever since then that’s what started to happen
You guys know where I could find somebody locally that could do a small unibody patch and weld repair? Body shops aren't really easy to deal with. They want to charge 10 times what it would cost actually fix it.
I mean I have a few local guys that would do it
@@RacingRamFam That's what I'm looking for. It's the spot on the section that the trans crossmember bolts into, so difficulty is slightly higher with the 2 nuts inside the rail.
Can you still run the shift kit plate and mods with the manual valve body shift kit? Or do I have to remove everything before hand?
Yes they use a lot of the same parts
How would I make my a reverse shift pattern ?!? I'm about to install this same kit in my 2k hp rated trans and I don't want to spend 1k on a Muldoon vb 😊
With this kit, if you put the shifter in third from a stop, does it run through first and second then third very quickly or does it just start off in third?
Third it’s a manual valve body kit meaning you have to manual shift it! Your looking for a reprogramming kit which we also did a video on kit king ago
@@RacingRamFam Thanks for the reply. In one of the reviews of this kit on summit racing someone said that in third it ran through first second third but super quick. Thanks for confirming that it doesn't.
So can you run this trans with a carburetor setup on the engine with no pcm ? If you install this kit ?
Yes! Only electrical you will need is for lock up and overdrive
Do you still have your tcm in truck with no issues or is it tuned to prevent it from acting up and how looking to do this
No tcm
@@RacingRamFam do you have your pcm tuned to manual
@@RacingRamFam and how did you do away with tcm I have 00 durango
Are you running an aftermarket transmission already?
Do you still have the tv cable hooked up?
Yes trans need throttle pressure
👍💪
How did your head gasket go??
@@RacingRamFam Was doing Full throttle romps yesterday after re-setting some codes low/high injection pressure codes. Check out Day 4 on my channel.
I will! Make sure the transfer tube nuts are tight!!!
@@RacingRamFam Watch till end, One magnum headed ported, another on the block. 😂 th-cam.com/video/jm2zkvFd3cc/w-d-xo.html
@@RacingRamFam I never pulled the injectors, injector lines, rail, or tubes. ALL came out together. 😝
What makes the valve body full manual if you guys can get back to me before I do mine thanks guys
You have to shift it. There is no drive
Well I have a 2wd dodge Ram 1500 and I put my shift kit in got it back going today but it don’t shift like I want it to my transmission is a 46RH but to do the back servo spacer and spring you have to remove the overdrive section and I didn’t and I didn’t do the front servo spring the new white spring.. do you have to do anything to valve body to make it full manual
How did you do overdrive and lock up with switches
They just need to be grounded
What wires do you use coming out of the transmission
