    Lmao at Ridge lecturing Massimo about what being a parent is. When have we *ever* seen Ridge parent? First Taylor seemed to do all the childcare, and now his sistercrush Bridget has taken over for her.

    It occurred to me that, in my recollection, we’ve *never* seen Eric try to do something so nice for Stephanie or dote on her in any way. And the only reason the show is having him do it now is to make him seem like even more of a wonderful person, and thus even more of a tragic victim of evil, deceptive Stephanie.

    No matter what ridge is Eric’s son and their bond is so strong! I’m glad they gave massimo another son and Nick turned out to want the marone family name and business

      Their bond wasn’t always strong. That’s another rewrite because in the beginning they both admit that they’ve always had a strained relationship and Eric has always been closer with Thorne and Kristen over him.

    Stephanie let me down. How can she renew her values to Eric lying in his face? And I feel for Massimo. The poor man is completely cut out of his family, this is so unfair

    All Massimo wants is to be a dad to Ridge and the concern and caring is all for Eric and is just too bad for Massimo

    @15:46 that speech about being a parent by ridge makes me want to vomit. Clearly his own advice doesn’t matter when it comes to Brooke because he didn’t put his children’s happiness before his own. Both him and Brooke reminded of the reasons why I always hated adults when I was a child because of their hypocrisy.

    *Doomed Reunions*
    This episode parallels Stephanie and Eric's vow renewal and recommitment to each other, which we know will soon be destroyed by a paternity secret being revealed, with Thorne and Macy's upcoming recommitment to each other (and potential vow renewal according to Thorne's plans), which will _also_ soon be destroyed by a paternity secret being revealed.
    Eric/Stephanie and Thorne/Macy are both couples who have found their way back to each other after the husband's infatuation with Brooke Logan. Both Stephanie and Macy have been disappointed by their husbands in the past but been willing to forgive them over and over. And we have seen before (in S13) that there are certain characteristics that these two women have in common (i.e. their strong POV as subjects, and their reliability as narrators).
    But, oddly, in this storyline the parallels are being drawn between Stephanie and _Thorne,_ and Eric and _Macy._ Thorne is the one who, like Stephanie, will have a child by someone other than his spouse. And Macy is the one who, like Eric, will be expected to raise that child as her own, not knowing about the child's true paternity.

    How does Eric knowing the truth decide if it’s the “end of the marone family”? Ridge is still his son and his kids are still his grandkids. Ridge still will have the last name Forester so it would be the end of the name being passed down regardless of who knows.

      To have a way to bring Steph down to Brooke’s level so she wouldn’t be able to judge her. I really wouldn’t mind the paternity change if it wasn’t for that and Brad using it as an excuse for the characters to date their family members

    Massimo expects too much (still wants Ridge to take on the Marone name) and Ridge offers too little (expecting Massimo to be satisfied with a father-son relationship in secret, never to be called dad in public, never to be acknowledged as granddad for real).

    • @annieo6527
      @annieo6527 4 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      True! I also get the feeling that Massimo is more interested in his family name not dying out than actually being a father. It's about his own legacy continuing, not necessarily about paternal love.

      @@annieo6527 The name/heritage definitely matters to Massimo. But early on - ep. 3689 - we had Massimo daydreaming that Massimo was the one sitting next to Ridge and Stephanie and celebrating Ridge's birthday together with Thorne, Bridget and Deacon at the restaurant. Massimo was delusional to think that he literally could just switch places with Eric (who didn't appear in Massimo's daydream).
      Massimo never has raised a kid, so he wrongly believed that he still could shape Ridge to become more like Massimo himself. We have seen Massimo also daydreaming that Ridge would one day thank Massimo for everything he has done for Ridge and how happy he is that Massimo is his dad.
      But it went from one extreme to the other. Instead of Massimo absorbing Eric's place/position, everyone (Stephanie, Bridget, Ridge) expects Massimo to be satisfied with always being the "family friend" and "benefactor" but never the "dad/granddad" , the one being tolerated and sometimes included, but easily cut out again if he asks for more.
      Why did everyone expect Eric's and Ridge's relationship to be ruined if Eric would be told the truth? Why couldn't there just be two dads and granddads? (and Eric already had "won" Stephanie back, who had only lived with Massimo but never really fell for him)

    • @lil_jon411
      @lil_jon411 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It would be unrealistic to expect ridge to start calling him Dad anyway. Mass wants him to act as if Eric never meant anything to him and thinks he can replace Eric but that’s not realistic. Even though I don’t like Eric he is ridges “dad” because he raised him, finding out about Massimo doesn’t suddenly means he’s “Eric” now. I do agree Eric should know and he does deserve to be in his son and grandkids lives.

    • @mara4450
      @mara4450 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@lil_jon411 With the bonding and Ridge being the legal heir and Massimo being accepted by the grandkids (and not long ago by Taylor), it still would be more realistic for Ridge to call Massimo _dad_ too (while calling Eric that too),
      than adult Finn (2020-2024 ) calling his adoptive mom and dad (who turned out to be his biological dad 😅) _mom_ and _dad_ - and then starting to call past criminal Sheila that too from time to time, even after Sheila had shot Finn and his wife and he could have died (adoptive mom saved his life).
      The writers never really are interested in realistic, just drama.
