You would think all professional boxing canvases would be uniform.
Absolutely nothing is consistent in this sport.
The canvas for Wlad v Luke was changed after inspection from Tysons corner
I boxed in some terrible rings. Some had canvas that had zero bounce to it, others were like being on a trampoline or even a thick layer of sponge. Ropes varied a lot too.
Same with football. Different dimensions for pitch sizes
Only a novice to boxing would think that...ring sizes also vary ANYONE remember Klitschko vs Fury and the amount of noise the Fury's made about that canvas. There should be no seams on the canvas all that money and you make a 2 piece ring canvas!

The canvas is incredibly important to the boxer .USYK is fast he needs a smooth surface to be able to move .

Was basically a memory foam mattress against Kiltchko, everyone in the room noticed it.....
Not seen the canvass but the seams may be raised preventing footwork speed which at this level is make or break or in simpler terms it's hard to move leaving the Boxer grounded to a slug fest ' change it to a normal smooth canvass check the gloves also so after the fight there are no excuses 🎩

And whats the point? Fighting at a neutral venue and complaining about an issue that if true affects fury just as much. Complaining about the quality of the canvas is different from the A side slipping extra foam underneath to slow the faster guy down
@@jose-Maki The point is, there have been examples in the past of funny games being played with the ring canvas, so as odd as it may sound, this isn't unprecedented. Also, Usyk's footwork is absolutely instrumental to his game, so any potential trip hazards will obviously be most detrimental to him and not Fury.

It's not an uncommon complaint. Peter Fury complained about the ring (different reasons) for the Klitschko v Fury fight in Germany.
That legit complaint was for 6 inch deep foam padding to slow up the 25 year old Fury.
that was about 1 foot of foam on the ring, this is just a bit of thread joining the sections, usyk looking for excuses.
Foam padding hidden under the canvas was a bit different because it was obvious what it was there for
fury complained about the canvas against WK before so his team cant say anything they went as far as to nearly call off the fight also
Fury is so undisciplined he arguably lost to an MMA fighter making his debut 6 months ago. 🤷♂️ you think usyk would’ve looked like that against an MMA guy? Usyk has the mindset and discipline of a champ , fury doesn’t.

You don't know how usyk would look against a mma guy, we do know in both there last 4 fights before that they both faced a champ twice a rank 1 mandatory and chisora. Fury had 4 kos in a row 😂

I practice the art of daily brisk walking and this is how I’d use it as an advantage. I’ve walked briskly for miles every single day for the last seven or eight years and in that time I’ve developed specialized callouses on my feet, especially the big toes.
If it were me I’d shave the soles of my shoes down to be as thin as possible then I’d learn to feel for that one millimeter seam and when it came time to throw a punch I’d hook my big toe on it or push off of it to generate just a little bit more force.
If you think that’s impossible you should practice the art of walking briskly everyday for years and see what you can figure out.
*Seems to me that if you practice pivoting on the seam you could learn to leverage more power from this exploit and it’s not against the rules. A scientist can probably explain the why’s.

Fury threatened to leave without fighting Klitschko because of the state of the canvas. They changed it and he went on to defeat Klitschko.

Your right, there wasnt enough padding under mat for fury to be on his toes, this was 2 hours before the fight and furys threatened to call the fight off if not sorted. Dirty klit games

That’s because Klit added extra layers of sponge to slow Furys footwork. So that it was like fighting on sand.
Fury isn’t the home fighter and Usyk isn’t the challenger. Fury hasn’t dictated the ring here.

There's different traction with different levels of padding that squish with each footstep to varying degrees..Spongier padding can even be more tiring to move on - in the amateurs we always had to get a feel for the ring before any event started

The canvas is probably meant for a puncher. If you’ve boxed before you know the difference between a punching canvas and a movers canvas
Wouldn’t more logos on it disrupt power punches if you got to plant yourself and twist into the punch making it slippery ?
@@UncleTermitewell it’s the actual material that would force it, some are stiffer some are more soft, softer ones are better for punchers, to where the stiffer ones allow you to move better

That doesn’t really make sense ,so far Fury has judges in his favor, maybe the referee as well ? Usyk had to virtually agree to everything from team Fury just to get this fight on.
I’d be looking at the canvas if I were him too. Ring logos can be slippy. Trip hazards from the canvas is a very very real thing. I went to wrestling school and have boxed a bunch. It’s something you feel more than what people will see.
I was looking at his footwear though and personally I wouldn’t wanna wear those. They look cool but personally I like a totally flat bottom without thick rubber everywhere. Floyd Maywethers Reeboks are really really nice. Hard to find and buy for average Joe. And the old Addidas ones, very common.
When I boxed we only had the proper boxing boots with a thin flat sole. The ones they wear now look more like basketball shoes with those big thick soles.

You mean the other way around? Klitschko fought on his home turf, and the ring was tailored to slow Fury down. Fury demanded it be changed.
