So I knew all there songs...I first heard Adam on his audition for American idol and followed him all the way through...So when I heard he was going to be joining queen I was delighted...There couldn't be a better person than Adam for queen...I didn't mention he's such a nice person..Welcome to the Glamberts!!!

I’ve seen them in concert 13 times, and Adam solo quite a few times, also, and both are great. I agree with you about Roger. I’ve been a Queen fan since the 70s, but until this documentary, The Show Must Go On, I never knew he was so brutally hilarious.

Adam is the best singer of the world. He is a lyrical tenor with a multioctave range. Live in concert he is unbelievable, he hit notes you dont know exists. Queen with Adam are more popular now than they ever been. I think that Adam achieve the impossible fronting Queen with class and grace, and be true to himself. Thanks for your great review and Adam is an amazing solo artist, you should look at his new album Velvet, its a masterpiece.

      @cko1005 4 ปีที่แล้ว +16

@@rjh9220 Adam Lambert is more amazing than Dimash in terms of technique and vocal ability .... I watched many presentations of Dimash on TH-cam, he is totally a master in falsetto, he can sing very loud with his ethereal and touching falsetto. But the consistency of the whole mix is not so good compared to Adam (sorry to say), his mix is very thin, less dense and with litlle resonance, sometimes stretching. And I can clearly hear some breaks through a few different registers in his live performance (rare, but it does). He's very dynamic, but less dynamic than Adam, except in his falsetto realm (but you can't expect many different colors of the falsetto, it's limited in terms of quality)... In fact, I remember a performance by Dimash, sometimes singing like an opera singer, sometimes like a pop star, so he uses the falsetto to hit super high notes, these are much more different and inconsistent sounds that make it strange this passage of registers (from low notes for the highest notes). Besides, Dimash has a classical musical background, and that always prevails in his singing style ... That is, Rock is not his forte ... Adam manages to do well even at Led Zeplin.

There is no other singer right now that can do what Adam does with his instrument. Effortless with clarity, pitch perfect and that tone of his.

So glad you finally watched The Show Must Go On. I was lucky enough to be at American Idol when Adam first performed with Queen and was VERY LUCKY to be backstage and was talking to Adam, Brian, and Roger, and said to them that they just had to perform together AGAIN. They all looked at each other and smiled, and said, "Yea, I think that we probably should", and the rest as they say, is history. I met Adam before AI and always knew he would be a huge star someday, but never imagined he would one day front my FAVORITE BAND of all time. So needless to say, I was so excited about the documentary 'The Show Must Go On' and I loved every second of it. Have watched it 37 times now. LOL And I'm so very proud of Adam. I don't think ANYBODY else could have filled Freddie's shoes as well as Adam does. And I'm so happy that he is giving the younger generation the chance to see Queen live. I was also lucky enough to have seen Queen perform with Freddie a number of times, and in my opinion, they are JUST AS AMAZING WITH ADAM as they were with Freddie.

Their shows are amazing and uszally they convince even the most persistent critics among the old Queen crowd. I've seen them walking out of venues, happy smiles on their faces, gushing about "that young boy", after they stood or sat with stoic expressions before the concert started.

@@megalo7063 Adam is at a much higher level vocally than Marc. The comparison here is who sings better, who has the best technique and not who imitates Freddie better. Adam has the greatest vocal range, the greatest flexibility and clarity of voice. Marc puts a lot of pressure on his voice, especially on the higher notes and it causes distortion of his voice. In other words, Marc tensions his voice to maintain similarity with FREDDIE's voice. Besides, Adam is a better performer than Marc.

His version of Tears for Fears Mad World and Led Zeppelins Whole Lotta Love were incredible. Roger and Brian don't need the money, they are workaholics that love to play their music for the fans. That is why they were so thrilled to find Adam. They say as long as they are willing and able they will keep touring. I am so happy to see new fans because of Adam and now the movie. I saw them last year and they were obviously all enjoying themselves so much it was great to see again after all they have been through thinking Queen was over after Freddie passed. It was a fantastic show I would go to see again in a heartbeat. I saw Queen in 1977 as well and I am so glad I went last year. I loved both shows. I was a Queen Fan with Freddie and I am a Queen + Adam Lambert fan as well. With the movie, Adam Lambert has brought Queen music to an entire new generation of people and I think that is a great thing. He is the most underrated vocalist of this time, not many could even sing Queen songs, they are just that intricate, and he is quite possibly one of the very few that can do it. If there is another. Sounding familiar? Like Freddie. Freddie loved the great singers and there is not a doubt in my mind that he is watching this and saying, that boy can sing, way to go Brian and Roger! Adam has a sweetness about him too when it comes to Brian and Roger, he gets out of their way when he needs to, there is much respect there. And I also believe Brian and Roger have helped him in this difficult music business and have helped Adam’s solo career as well, performance wise. Adam Lambert is very much an ongoing part of the endless Queen Legacy, it just goes on and on, and deserves many props for being brave enough and to believe in himself enough to take this on. And slowly win over people, for the most part. You will find those old Queen with Freddie fans out there that are against him but he has built up the newer generation now that it is kind of like who cares? He is relevant. Period! 💗

I cannot express enough how much I adore Queen and their collaboration with Adam. He fits Queen like a glove! He's got the vocal chops, stage presence and his chemistry with Brian and Roger is just infectiously electric! I especially love his comedy/vaudeville banter intro bits with Brian). Plus, you don't get called a GFG (gift from God) by Brian May himself for nothing! On top of that, Brian and Roger started calling him their “slightly younger brother” during last summer’s rhapsody tour. Nothing beats that!

@@OliverShillito It's really beautiful and gratifying to see Roger and Brian so happy. And there's obviously so much love and respect between them and Adam. I got tickets to see them last year in April for their New Zealand tour in February, without really knowing anything about Adam, and only having seen a couple of his videos in January. When I heard him live I was SO blown away. As a singer and voice coach of many years, I was absolutely gobsmacked - never heard anyone like him. To me he is every bit as incredible an artist in his genre as Placido Domingo was, at his peak, in opera. Absolutely love the flamboyance too. I could gush for hours. And as far as those who insist on comparing him to Freddie are concerned - you can't compare them. They are two very different artists with very different voices who are each great in their own way. I like to imagine Freddie saying (with a wink and a twinkle in his eye), "Well, he's not me - but he's pretty good." QUEEN did not 'replace' Freddie with Adam. They simply consider themselves blessed to have found someone with whom they can continue to honor Freddie's - and their own - legacy, in the most beautiful way, with an artist who is truly worthy of carrying it on. And I hope they continue to do so for many years to come. I fully intend to see them again live!

Welcome to the world of the Glamberts, I would like to say and thank you for showing your new enthusiasm for Queen + Adam Lambert. I watched the documentary and was just happy that Brian and Roger took this young man into their family and let him do his thing. Which is so indescribably good. I was never a big fan of Queen, I knew them of course. I was born in the early seventies and grew up with them. What drew my attention a bit more to them was their song 'Who wants to live forever' because of the movie 'Highlander', but that was it. At the beginning of the year, I became aware of Adam Lambert by chance. I just needed a few songs and I fell completely in love with his music, his voice, his charm, his manner, and, yes, his stunning looks. Then I found out that he is the lead singer of Queen. I'd never heard of that before. I started watching concert clips, documentaries and now I am not only an Adam fan but also a Queen fan. Much to my husband's delight, who, like you, was won over by Adam through Queen. They brought the music back into our lives and for that, I am very grateful.

Glad to see you converted to a fan! Love to hear your enthusiasm- so many of us share ! FYI- he was on the 2009 season of American Idol. And the reason they tour as Queen and Adam Lambert is because they did not hire him. Instead it’s a “collaboration” between two established performance acts. Having watched that video you refer to about 5 times in the last year, it’s one of my favourites. It’s nice when a venture produces a win win outcome. But this collaboration has produced a win win win win outcome. Queen wins- those guys are “drinking his young blood” and having the time of their lives. They adore him, and they’re bigger now than ever. Adam wins - he landed the biggest rock gig in the world. Queen fans win, Adam fans win, new fans win. And of course the rock show promoters and big concert venues win. Most exciting and successful
    collaboration of all time! 👏👏👏👏

@ toramenor - I too adore Adam Lambert and knew he would be a superstar even the minutes before he auditioned on American Idol in 2009. I have seen Adam several times solo and he is AMAZING SOLO!!! I also had the absolute pleasure of meeting Adam last summer and he is super nice, sweet, a doll, genuine , humble - and the list goes on. His personality just oozes out of him. I do hope you get to see him solo! I have also seen him perform with Queen, but my preference is to see Adam solo. Stay well.

I saw the live stream the other day and they spoke of going through the song catalog, so it appears some rarely heard songs may make an appearance.

Greta review! I've seen them together 14 times! Best concerts I've ever been to & pre Covid, I usually go to about 10 concerts a year! The key to Adam's success with Queen is #1 that he does NOT try to imitate Freddie. And this was very important to Roger and Brain. Then of course, he has the vocals to be ale to sing every song. And of course, his "take no prisoners" on stage personality! TY, again!

Thank you for your honest review and welcome to the Glamberts World :) I have loved Adam since his American Idol audition singing Bohemian Rhapsody, marvelled at his performances throughout the competition, hated that the best man didn't win but hey look who's got the last laugh. It is disheartening that many Queen fans still refuse to accept him even though, as he has often said, he is not here to replace Freddie Mercury but to celebrate his music. I'm glad to have watched both his solo and and QAL concerts. Not quite sure how long the collaboration will last given the fact that both Brian and Roger are in their 70s, but to me he is the perfect fit. I look forward to following his future career with or without Queen.

The problem with beeing converted these days is that you have to wait almost FOREVER to finally see them live. :-) I discovered Queen in Spring 2019 and given that I live in Europe, it will be 3 years till I get to go to their shows. Have to admit though that it's kind of nice to have something like that to look forward to through this whole pandemic. I'll be 41 then, attending my first rock concert ever (but not only one). :-)
Adam is fantastic, and to see the joy on Brian's and Roger's faces is all you need to know! Like many of us, I'm a fan of the original foursome in the first place, but the chemistry in Queen + AL grabbed me right from the start, too! The fact that they got the chance to do this again after the devastating loss of Freddie and after all this time is just moving!

Im one of the younger ones LOL I knew Adam Lambert before I knew Queen.. I honestly thought Queen was dead coz I only hear their songs in videoke, ya know, didnt know who Queen was, only know the songs because drunk guys sing them in the middle of the night.. I finally knew about Queen (freddie brian roger and john) when Adam mentioned them when asked about his musical inspirations.. then that's when I found out all about 70s 80s music and got obsessed with them. At first I didn't like the idea of Adam joining Queen (Queen who? LOL) because I wanted to see him flourish in his solo career, but man I was wrong LOL He was able to do both!! I was the same. Massive Queen fan, knew of Adam Lambert, but didn't follow his career. I paid attention after I saw them together in 2014, and I became a Glambert not long after. Like a lot of new performers, they made it all about Adams looks, and not about his voice (lots of auto-tuning. Why???), and I think somewhere along the way people forgot what this man could do, or didn't know at all if you didn't watch Idol season 8 like I didn't. I have no doubt in my mind that he is the greatest singer alive today.

HIs live session are good. The albums are autotuned, but THIS AL doesn't need it for live, he's got years of experience in live performances with out the gimmcks. If you would like- look up My Convication a production of Hair, to get an idea how skilled he is actually. :) It's old, but kinda confirms what he can pull off. The interesting part about Adam is that he started out in musical theater as a child and initially did plays like Hair and Wicked when he started out. He is a trained singer and spent a couple of years learning operatic technique. Check out his singing The Prayer and Shir Lashalom with 2 operatic sopranos. Then he sang Brigadoon which is also on youtube and he is phenomenal. That is the kind of music I would love to hear more of. I adore him singing with Queen as it is also an operatic, difficult catalog to sing. Sometimes his songs don't do justice to his voice. I would love to hear him sing O Holy Night! Silly

American Idol, not America's Got Talent. The best TV talent show contestant in any TV talent show anywhere in the world ever, and he was runner-up to a typically American wholesome boy (but so was Elvis, whose doppelganger he so definitely is, in a talent show).
As for what range Adam Lambert has, "all the notes on any guitar" and "from Maria Callas to Barry White" as just two of the many well-known producers that have worked with him have put it.
Brian, Roger, etc, didn't really have any plans to perform as Queen again after their tour and album with the wonderful Paul Rodgers (one of Freddie's favourite singers) in the mid-2000s but they came across Adam who has the range, power and versatility to perform different styles, as well as the OTT (some would say camp) performance skills and stage presence of Freddie (as Brian describes him, "a gift from God") without being a Freddie impersonator or in any way trying to be the man whose huge shoes he is honoured to fill.
They tour as Queen & Adam Lambert because Adam has had a solo career for the past ten years as well as being frontman for Queen for the past ten.

I too watched that documentary because I was bored and it convinced me to check the guy out. I found him to be highly creative and respectful of the lyrics. I mean both Smokey Robinson and Cher loved how he reinterpreted their songs.
🤣🤣 although still can’t get over Randy Travis’ face at seeing his rendition of Ring of Fire. Horrified but trying to restrain himself to not showing it🤣🤣🤣

@@OliverShillito Lot's of training - and no autone. Might use verb. lol Check out My conviction in Hair. Its a production of theatre, over that will show you how skilled he is actually. :) He's under apperciated sadly. I get why, but still. He's actually more popular in China then anywhere else in the world...which is .... odd frankly.

Best part of Adam, is that he actually a nice dude off the script.Even though it's image that's kinda eh. He'll state his opinion like everyone else though. But doesn't brag. Thank you -you seem to get Adam's character. He's a fun dude. Does charity a lot. Lot's off it is a front, he'll go out of the way. *watch more than one interview* He's always done Glam Rock. hahahah yes, that cancel culture, yay. *rolls eyes* The other great thing is looking what Adam can do in the past as well. If your interesed. He's done borderline Metal. Also, Queen wouldn't have asked him if they thought he was a rude dude, they they are next door neighbors in L.A. In 2009, to add, for to able to sing Led Zepplin had to give permission to him. He to his very diverse, least for a current male singer? Sadly gets a lotta hate.. fair warning.

Kinda wish they're more people like you. Nice meeting you. If you ever want to know of his earlier- pre fame stuff- let us know. or its wiki pedia. Led zepplin gave him permission. XD

Thank you for an excellent review! Adam's astounding voice drew us to him, and his humility and genuineness made us love him.
Brian May calling him their "Gift From God" is not overstated. This is another amazing performance from his American Idol journey.
