I met Joe a couple of times on these kinds of occasions. Joe has always been welcoming and kind. Some of the stuff he says stuck, like human emotions trump everything. Sometimes I use it as an excuse not to endlessly edit my pictures. If it's good it's good, if it's no good perhaps no amount of edits can resuscitate it anyway. On the other end of spectrum, I see people compulsively edit adjust crop their or others' pictures to no end, and there is indeed no end to edits if one chooses to do it. Like he once said, there is some finality to a picture.
I am going to try to get one of Joe Book by end of the year since he great teacher and was nice to review my photo by email after I left early to care for a parent.

Coffee is a basic necessity, like chocolate. All the various permutations of chocolate, white, dark, milk, etc., comprise the fourth major food group. You never outgrow your need for chocolate. Coffee's next.
