I really appreciate this video because there are many people who would like to make Christmas cards, but do not have all the supplies to do so. This is a great alternative. Thank you for taking the time.
shotgun4jesus thanks for these great ideas for budget cards - what time of year did you find these cards - this video says you posted it in July - did you buy these last year - am too late to make my cards this year but if I can look for supplies for Christmas 2017 then I want to get at it
Maymay Made It Crafts watching your video for 2nd time - realized I could use your ideas for gift bag decorating since I only use craft paper bags - I keep all cards I receive so if I can't find cards like these at Michaels (Canada) then could use front of cards previously sent to me - my brain is racing and its all your fault 🙄😅 I make caramel popcorn & shortbread for gifts so love to bag them for all the "kids" in my life
Maymay, I love your videos. You keep it simple to ewhere anyone could understand them . You talk through each step so it can be followed step by step. Before I look for a video, I always look for one with your name first. I appreciate your energy and passion for what you do.
Perfect idea for people that don't have a lot of spare time but want to make something handmade. I loved your scrap tree card and the white swirls gave it that whimsical look.
WOW!! You've been a busy bee....all the cards are so cute and simple to make...I love the way you used the scraps to make another card....very creative...I love recycling....TFS
Hi,I love those papers, they are so cute,I wish we had them here in England, they are so fast to make something that looks really good with, and at a great price too.I do like the little rustic folksy tree you made with the scraps, that is just too sweet.thanks for sharing a great tutorial.
Maymay I just love you. You have a kind heart and it really shows through your teaching. I need a simply way to make cards this year so that I will actually *finish* my handmade cards this year! This fits the bill and they are soooo cute!!! I can embellish with the best of 'em!
I recently found out there were a couple of Hobby Lobby stores about 20 miles from me. I tried looking for this great pocket pack but to no avail. Then I realized, this video was posted 2016! Ugh. I hope The Paper Studio starts to stock these types of items again!! Thanks for such great videos and ideas. I love following your videos
So darn cute what an easy way to make any card I pass those cards up all the time in the clearance isle at HL. Now I know what I can do with them. Your so clever. Thanks for sharing.
I can attest to the Cricut paper trimmer. It's GREAT! After reading customer reviews for both Martha Stewart's & Fiskars' brand paper trimmers & being totally disgusted with their performance/having to return them, I was so happy and relieved to find the Cricut's version. It trims a nice straight line for a very reasonable price (vs. something like Stampin Up's price for a good clean cut, which I considered given my options). So if you're looking for a good paper cutter that cuts clear straight lines, has an extended arm, & lightweight portability, ... all at an affordable price, Cricut is the one to get! Cool Economical Process for making loads of Xmas cards, May May! Thanks for sharing.
Love, Love, Love this video. I don't have a lot of time, and I do not have fancy cutting tools, so these cards will be perfect for me to make. Thank you so very much. Love your channel!! - JoAnn
Hi Miss May May. I have been getting your sterncils and I am having a ball. Thank you for the tips on Christmas cards. I plan to make mine as well this year.
1st time watching you, enjoyed a lot! I've been making hand made cards for years. I was looking for a little inspiration and there u were! Thanks! A true crafter fines a way to use the smallest of scraps and I LOVE WHAT U DID WITH YOURS!!! The tree is super cute but the doodling gave the tree it's charm. See u tomorrow. 💜
I'm so glad I came across this video. My sister and I are doing our first craft fair this year at christmas time and wanted to make cards but had no idea where to start. I will definitely be checking hobby lobby for that paper pack. Thanks so much for all your videos because they are all so helpful for us. :)
I guess Im asking the wrong place but does anyone know a trick to log back into an instagram account? I was dumb lost the password. I appreciate any assistance you can give me!
@Brantley Cristian i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im trying it out atm. Seems to take quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
Just too cute! I love this. Thank you for the idea about the thin scraps, never, would I have thought of this on my own. Simple and elegant at the same time. Fondly, Ronda
Great video, great ideas! Here's an idea for the scraps. Glue a matching strip on the envelope, either vertical on the left front or horizontal on the back or just inside the envelope flap. Might be a nice finishing touch.
Love these Christmas cards Maymay! Any way to make things easier/quicker... I'm all for it! Ok, now something funny. I was watching this video while crafting, so you know how that goes, just glancing at the screen every so often. And when you were decorating the "Silver Bells" card, you said you were "putting pearls where the holly berries would be" and I SWEAR I heard "where the Halle Berry's would be." (Like the actress.) Hahahahaha! Yep, apparently I need to have my hearing checked. LOL! It just made me giggle. Hope you're having a great day!
Versa mark pens could be used to heat emboss the "Silver Bells" in glittery powder!! LOVE the "scrappy tree" at the end. I have some buttons from MME that would be perfect for that!!
love this quick idea and always love the scrap usage. you could also do a quilt type pattern since the pieces are different sizes etc. oh a woven design...see I'm off to see what else I can do lol thank you May May
Oh man!!! I wish I could go to Hobby Lobby tomorrow. I have to pack a lunch and make sure the gas tank is full. Oh, and that I have my passport!!!! Think we could get a franchise up here? We've got Michael's but it's not as good as Hobby Lobby.
First, MAY MAY, I'm a new subscriber, moreover, a new craftee. I caught on to you when I saw your video on CRICUT FOR BEGINNERS. I must tell you that I'd been trying to locate a video that will look at their audience as DUMMIES. You know like CRICUT FOR DUMMIES. LOL. Hell, treat me as if I'm a DUMMY...I am when it comes to the CRICUT. You are superb in that video. Thanx for holding my hand. Do you have an intermediate vido? You are AWWWESOME as an instructor. I am hesitant to say this but....i think you are cute as LITTLE button. That voice and accent is uplifting and consist of LOADS OF SMILE. You have my vote for being an inspiring and zealous CRAFTER. I will continue following you as I see multitudes of videos of you!
I like this idea of letting the paper do the work to make a card. Do you by chance have any other videos similar to this for other holidays or occasions?
You have such lovely ideas. I just recently came across your channel and this video made me hit that subscribe button and ring that bell. Thank you for sharing your talent!!
Maymay, when you use colored card stock to make your card do you leave it the color of the cardstock inside to write on, I suppose I am used to writing on white?
Hi May May! I'd love it if you did a comparison of paper trimmers! I have 2 Fiskars trimmers (a small, light-weight one and a big rotary trimmer), but I can never get a perfectly straight cut, and it drives me crazy! So if you have a recommendation, I'd appreciate it. Thank you!
Hey! I want to start making cards and I love these! But what is a pick up tool and what kind of glue is that? Are they on your site or can I get them any craft store. We have all three major craft stores in our area? I love your tutorials!
I love making cards, but i absolutely appreciate the idea of embellishing pictures when I'm time poor and adding my own bling, so may options! This is great to do with my miss 11 or just when I'm time poor. Im a mum of four (inc. one with high needs) so this is a great option. Tfs & take care 🌹
+Maymay Made It Crafts I just love your channel. Thanks so much for sharing your craftyness with us all. This is a real time saver and I especially love the tree card. I'm gonna have my 3 year old grandson, Tray, help me make some. xoxox Dawn
I can't seem to find the 4x6 cards in my local hobby Lobby's, I can only find the small 3x4 cards. Can you do a video that shows ways to use the 3x4 size for cards?
Hi maymay!!!! I have a huge request. I'm addicted to paper stacks!!! The ones u can find @ Michaels, hobby lobby & joanns. They r paper though, single sided ( 12 x12 & 8 1/2 x 11 ) I have xmas ones & would love & appreciate it if u could make a video with a Michaels or hobby lobby stack making some xmas cards. I can't find any videos of people using paper pads. I need help please & thank u!!!! Donna
I have lots of cards from previous years and this year made in a Christian Christmas theme. Do a quick search and see if you see any you like on my channel. Thanks
You can use the scraps and turn it in to a mozaique card. Add a glazing medium on it or glossy accents and you have *drumroll TILES :P if you're on a budget like me, just make it into a quilt card :)
Love it, love it love it!! I would love to know the name of the last pack you used and if there is someplace to by them, As I recall it was a Christian pack.
I really appreciate this video because there are many people who would like to make Christmas cards, but do not have all the supplies to do so. This is a great alternative. Thank you for taking the time.

Just too cute! I love this. Thank you for the idea about the thin scraps, never, would I have thought of this on my own. Simple and elegant at the same time. Fondly, Ronda
Ron Howard Another variation would be to cut a triangle tree from cardstock, then apply all the pieces with glue from bottom to top, then trim!
TY for the tip! You posted this 3 years ago and it's just what I needed now!!!
Great idea. I really like the look on the kraft card stock. I also would like Stampin Up's Very Vanilla as a base. Thanks, Maymay.
Great video, great ideas! Here's an idea for the scraps. Glue a matching strip on the envelope, either vertical on the left front or horizontal on the back or just inside the envelope flap. Might be a nice finishing touch.
I just purchased two packs of these little cards. They were on clearance at HL for like 2.49 each. Excited to use them to make Christmas cards!
