what? chainsaw man is about a guy trying to feel some cop (he did it in chapter uhhhh, 12-19 I forgor 💀 it's been long since I've read the manga) and about fighting devils
fun fact: Patrick once said a line spoken by T-800 from the movie Terminator 2: The Judgment Day, even though something interesting is "even though the American Psycho movie was released in 2000, the movie is set in 1989 which is when the movie Terminator 2 hasn't been released in in 1989."

There are so many hints in the movie where you can realize that most of the deeds if not all are just in his head. Basically people go " the people are so coolie cutter so others cant tell them apart, and that is why they think they had dinner with someone who Bateman already killed" but its all in his head. It culminates in the ending of losing grip from reality while it still seeming somewhat realistic. That whole "killin spree" part at the end, it was either all in his head or he experienced it in his thoughts while going to the office. The most heavy handed way to realize is the "feed me stray cat" and the blowing up cars with a glock. So all the horrible things he did was just in his head. Like the main character, the audience has hard time realizing where fantasy stops and the real world comes in in the movie.
Also in the book it is shown that he rented out the movie before several times. Patrick also makes references to it in some of his monologues and one off comments. I’m glad they brought that over to the movie as wellZ
Yeah he says stuff like, "I was returning a tape" a lot of times in the movie but I never actually saw him returning any, I just assumed he was lying lol. I haven't read the book, so thanks for the info 👍
The movie being on in the background while he’s doing regular stuff is supposed to show how desensitised he is to things others may find disturbing….same with the porn movie he’s watching😊
