Thank you for sharing the knowledge. I have been doing some searches (far from comprehensive) on your channel for some overview of pulley / block use in rigging, without finding anything much. Is that because you indeed tend to exclude this from your repertoire, or have I simply missed the key videos where you provide a thorough coverage?
This can be a topic that we dive into more. In the industry, we see more manual hoists, such as come-alongs and chain blocks, rather than pullies. Was there a particular question you were looking to have answered?
@@LiftingandRigging I'm generally interested in becoming a bit more informed about standard approaches and practices in your environment and was curious to find out if there are any contexts in which either pulley or block systems become a convenient and appropriate way to get any particular tasks done. (I come from tree care background ... in my line of work we tend to rely on textile ropes to a substantial extent. Both life support and rigging, paired with say, low friction rings, pulleys / blocks - often simply for redirection. I do occasionally like setting up mechanical advantage to apply tension for control in felling leaning trees, works nicely)
Can you guys test the pulling power of a Masdaam rope puller, both straight up, and with one pulley to double pull? And see how much force required to break one? Us tree guys have been debating this for years but we can't find anyone that has tested it
