RIDE makes me feel like I'm soaring, and I don't want to land anywhere. "Above your head Looking down, I see you far below Looking up, you see my spirit glow"
Thankfully saw them a year after this. I was 15. EDIT: mad how diving further into record stores and reissues that you can hear what they were listening to too. Fucking banging. Spiritual OxRawk.
You guys were cool. Great to hear you reunited live in Toronto. Now Lush is back. An exciting time for shoegaze/dreampop fans. Now all we need are Catherine Wheel and Cocteau Twins reunions.
Rob Dickenson is busy making $500k Singer Porsches and $75k Singer watches, so sadly, I don't see a reunion in Catherine Wheel's future. Saw them open for The Charlatans thankfully, and they were great.
Amazingly enough I always thought I had. Imagined hearing this all so long ago.. never was so blasted to a different time as I am now these bits of sonic utopia we chase…..
I had a chance to see you in Belgrade, Yugoslavia on November 21, 1990. I didn't know who you were. I saw you "live" 25 years later (!) in Vancouver in 2015
I should have known better, Than to expect it all. You want everything, And you end up grabbing at air.I had so much to give, So much hope, we held each other high. But the heroes are gone, And all that's left is you and me.I learned the hard way, That life should be easy, But I want you to know it was hard to show, The things that I know now.And all that's left is you and me, And here we are, Nowhere.
Andy was/is such a talented player. Shame Oasis regulated him to simple bass duties for so long. Oh well, certainly made him a rich man. Can't knock that.
Never under appreciated here in the UK, they were a huge band in the early 90s (still loved) an led the shoe gaze movement and yet were so loud and energetic live...nothing about them said shoe gaze, that as a derogatory term used to describe bands that... Gazed at their shoes onstage, however I love the bands of that movement.
Elizabeth, I edited this for RIDE. The answer is yes it was shot on film back in 91. 16mm and Super 8. The film sat in film cans for almost 25 years and was finally digitized! I knew them from back in the day and they asked me to edit it for them. It was a tedious edit as the film was silent! With no sync sound I had to lip read to even figure out what song they were doing!
@@matthewlevin7353 Thanks for your reply! Ah, I see, i figured most things were recorded on tape to save money around that time.. Well you did a great job syncing it up then, I don't think anyone would have guessed that's how you had to edit it! haha.
Do people realize enough how good this band is?
No, they dont :/
No, no they do not.
I saw them 2 days ago, they are still this good.
@@jamescalero same. they are the best concert I've seen live.
@@mmeditatio They're really fucking good, but they are not Ray Charles good.

2021 and I still watch this daily
For me as someone with Autism, this is basically what my meltdown sounds like.
Never have I ever heard a song by Ride that I don't love 🤗
This band identifies my youth. And they are still the lost path to good music.
It took the planet a quarter century to catch on to where the future of music was really heading.
Ride was ahead of them all and the world never really got there.
@@softlightsymphonyband Whenever I put this on, people always ask "Who the F*CK is this?!?"
Nailed it!
watching this in 2021 and DAMN,,, my ears has gone to heaven earlier than me

넴
they were also VERY LOUD! Their music sounded so powerful
This is the only band ever that I never get sick of. I'm going to see them Sunday, I've been waiting decades.
I heard the whole album Nowhere. It made me cry so hard. So helpless feeling.
That intro is inspiring.
I agree with the others on here........Ride is so unappreciated.Great band.

One of the best songs ever....
Every day sublime again and again

+Polyfusia Yes, definitely Catherine Wheel :)
and Adorable of course :)

God Damn this is a great version!
Holy sh!t look how BAKED Andy is... If I was this baked and playing this, I'd have gotten lost in this riff foreverrrrrrr you'd never see me again 🤣
yeeeees he looked so baked here, maybe that's why this version of Nowhere always remains top 1 for me
@@oleunited1986 Same... nothing can touch this.
Amazing performance. Great live band
That time 1991 was the best year for music.. Catherine Wheel. Hope they get back together soon.
This is great, i miss the 90s

He wrote one of the best Oasis songs there ever was, imo. "Keep The Dream Alive". The fact that he only wrote 3 or 4 songs in Oasis is a real shame.
Esto es increíble!!!!!!

is there a way to buy the 25th anniversary nowhere reissue along with the dvd, both in digital format?

See you in Six-Fours, i love you

what guitar is Andy playing?
Owen Deane Gretsch Tennessean

Whenever I hear any of these bands I instantly think Spacemen 3 had they given a toss ...
Spacemen 3 class
!!!
When this band was peaking sadly their last album blows. 😢
Andy > Noel
Different kind of music man 🤷
I don't understand why this Evaluation is mediocrity.
