- Aardappels rooien in het Belgische Brecht door Loonbedrijf Hack uit Kruisland (N-B). Om het afland leveren van aardappels efficiënter te laten lopen bouwde Hack dit jaar een Ploeger MKC-8 spinaziemaaier om tot zelfrijdende overlaadwagen met reinigings unit. De overlaadwagen heeft een bunker capaciteit van 25ton, genoeg om de rooier twee keer te kunnen lossen.
Contractor Hack of Kruisland, the Netherlands constructed this year a special Self-propelled machine for cleaning and loading potatoes on to trucks. The machine is based on a Ploeger MKC-8 Spinach harvester and has a load capacity of 25 tons. The cleaning unit separate the useless soil is from the crop, while charging the truck. This module enables you to transport a clean crop and leave the useless load on the field.
The lifting of the spuds is done using a Ploeger AR-4B harvester.

It does when you're running it in a contractor business, where it goes around doing this all season on lots of different farms.
Guess it can be used for all root vegetables ie carrots, parsnips, turnips etc as well as for sugar beat.

Kind of a redundant piece of equipment. Why not save several hundred thousand and overload directly into the trailer?
For remote locations, it cuts handling costs and gives "direct-to-market", or "field-to-market" capability. The less you handle the product, the better off you are.
Mud
- Soil compaction. Big wide tyres do less of that.
- Cleaning. Soil stays on the field, doesn't go out to the processor.
- Efficiency. Clean potatoes mean more potatoes per tonne of truck.
- Trucks may not be able to go onto the field. This will.
It's the same as the grain carts they use for wheat, soybeans, corn, etc. The combines can keep going 24x7 while the grain carts run back and forth to the trucks.
I am amazed from that machine I did not think it was possible I 💜🚜

Ich kenne mich zwar mit den Kosten nicht aus, aber ich glaube das Gerät kostet (sehr) viel Geld. Mich würde mal interessieren ab wie viel Hektar sich so was überhaupt lohnt.

they usually harvest fields that are a lot bigger than this one
This machines not only for small field and when you have few hours between two rainings it helps you get your potatoes quick and at right time. I think this contractor drives between fields 24/7 and harvest quick and clean pretty large amount.

about the loading machine. is that really necessary? i mean a tractor would do the same thing by using less fuel
It's all about the visibility for the driver of the loader, but I agree, this is a bit far fetched and not worth the investment in my opinion.

Which are the driving wheels,thebig ones on the back or the small ones in the middle ?
I would say that the large pair at the rear are the primary driving wheels given that they have the engine and pumps placed directly over them, but given that it needs to move about fields to help harvest a potato crop it may very well be All Wheel Drive, hydro-static is my guess given the amount of hydraulics already on the machine.
What's the need for the second machine? Couldn't the first simply side load straight into the truck?

Preference to use a auger wagon, or in this case...
Not too uncommon, for example corn farmers use auger wagons to empty the harvester and transfer to a truck.
@@verios44 that's just cuz it's easier to do because there's so many different loads the big difference here is this damn cart is ridiculously slow. I mean seriously that picker is only doing four rows at a time on a tiny little field and this thing can't keep up.

Dane Spencer pretty much all of Europe, most of Africa, South America, most of Canada, large parts of Asia, and more use the comma as a decimal separator. The point is mostly used in countries with ties to Great Britain in one way or another. Also, the comma is favoured for this purpose in ISO standard 8601.
