I can imagine each of the characters doing their own thing in the lobby. [spoilers, but seeing you’re hear means you already know a bit about the characters] Cadence is sharpening her dagger in preparation for the next trip. Melody is playing a tune next to the Mage merchant, trying to learn an arcane spell that might help with her curse or (after completing the story) just chilling in the corner, watching her daughter. Aria (pre completion) is preparing a map of the crypt [but the map will have question marks all over because of how random each room is] or will (after story) have her soul watching Melody. Eli would be in the middle, mumbling something about how reckless the family is and practicing his bomb throws with a rock. Dorian is in the Codex room practicing several of the Lore levels with his Leaping condition. Rather than the bard being in the lobby, a painting of him pre-Necrodancer appears in the Dungeon Master’s room, with the hanging cutlass of Nocturna in the corner of the Blacksmith. Dove is in the Mage’s room in the opposite corner of Melody, next to a patch of flower pots. The Monk is meditating in the Janitor’s room, which seems like the most quiet room in the lobby. Bolt is in either the Bestiary or the Bossmaster rooms, fighting a punching bag to the rhythm of the theme.
