This is my first time watching. I was watching always in stitches and she mentioned you. I like the colored charts. You really need to step up your game and work on Linen. Nancy from always in stitches got me hooked.

Love Always in Stitches. I love how they hang their cross stitch fabric. I also quilt so it is a win win on supplies for both. Go there when I visit family. My sister and I are also weekend A. Enjoyed your video.

Congratulations getting into Stitch Con 2023! You certainly have been stitching up a storm! Love the cute little bird you fully finished and can't wait to see the FFO. I love the colors on your Christmas stitch. Your Halloween start should not take long either because of using one or two colors. I am enjoying your progress on the advent calendar and all the different colors. I also prefer black and white charts so I can mark off as I go. As far as fixing your gnome, my hubby said you need a gel super glue because of the strong polar of the magnets and be sure to let dry overnight. Love it when you take us to an LNS but so sad when you leave because it really gives you the shopping bug! I am also like you wanting to stitch everything I have but would probably end up going crazy stitching 24/7. I had to take a time out on my current project. I was frogging and restitching. So, yesterday I said timeout. It is a rabbit, and its eye has all of these 1/4 stitches. I am stitching it on aida which is harder to do. I even used a sharp needle to split the threads and it still didn't look good. I am so glad I got that off my chest to someone. Happy Stitching. So sorry for going on and on, but you covered a lot of ground.

    Hi Sean
The Christmas Rules is really fun to do. I finished mine last year and hung it up for Christmas . Super fast.
It's Cornhusker State Stitchers. I'm from Nebraska so I know. They're great.
Thank you for showing your work-always fun to look forward to.

Sean, Sean, Sean, we have to get you graduated to linen fabric. I was a diehard Aida stitcher for more than 2 decades until a friend made me stitch on linen and wow, I have never looked back! I too, prefer black and white patterns, too confusing with all the colors! Keep those FlossTube's coming, super enjoy your enthusiasm, happy stitching 🪡

I want to stitch it all too! I find colored charts easier, I find I have to make a larger working copy of a black and white chart if it's too small. I don't highlight or cross off as go. It was my pleasure sending the bag set for the give away, I hope the winner enjoys using it.

Love the stichy store tours. I prefer black & white patterns so much more than color patterns. Sometimes the color patterns tire my eyes out looking at them. But the most important thing is a clearly marked chart. I hate it when designers use symbols that closely resemble another! So frustrating! Especially when a chart is on the smaller side. Keep up the great stitching & hope you try & enjoy the linen! (That's my favorite.)

Love your floss tubes. 25 ct Lugana is definately the gateway to linen. I have just started using linen. Very addictive. I don’t think I will ever go above 32 ct though my eyes are just not that good I use the goofy looking light with the magnifiers Dicfeos. Allow me to stitch on everything over s 14 ct. they are great

I like black and white charts when it's paper especially. Pattern keeper, I'll use for the color charts if possible. I'm going to purchase that Halloween from Teresa soon. Look don'tcha just love the cover chart?! Anyway have a great stitching time. Thanks for sharing your videos. 🧡🌼

E6000 for the glue to use on needle minder. I am an apple user. I use good notes for importing my pictures of my charts. That way I can zoom in to count easier. 3 free imports but I paid the one time fee of less than $10 to use unlimited number of imports. I like color patterns so it can help me see the floss color is changing.

I second this recommendation for Good Notes. I really like that I can highlight my progress in the app. Added bonus: I no longer have to use an actual highlighter pen… I’ve accidentally gotten highlighter marks on my stitching before 😊

I guess I’m 50/50 on color charts because I’m working on Siren of the sea by Autumn lane and I refer to the color chart but work on off the black and white. I know what you mean I just finished four smalls and started the Halloween sampler by Teresa Kogut and it was hard on the color patterns and it was too shiny. Enjoyed catching up with you today and congrats on your finish. Have a wonderful evening and happy stitching 😊🧵🪡🤗🤩

You have lots of great projects going on. First, did anyone recommend for your adhesive E6000. I think a lot of people use it for their magnets. Also, on the colored charts, could you make a black and white copy of the colored chart? The color symbols would still show? Always In Stitches looks like a great shop.

Found you today, great videos. Your samplers are enticing me to start a few, I am more of a full coverage type stitcher. I do like color but I like completely black as well, so 60/40. I suggest Stitching Jules, she designs as well. I have a few of her patterns ready and waiting for the perfect fabric.

Another great video. I too don't care for color charts. I am a paper chart person and have to highlight the area I finished. I usually take the color chart and copy in b & w and make it as bright as I can to be able to see symbols. Heard your stitch harmony shoutout. Too bad I am in FL. I don't have stitchers or store near me either. I hope you are able to connect with people in your area. Have a great week!

If I started everything I wanted to stitch I would have over 100 WIPs. Then nothing would ever get finished. It is so hard to pick my next project when I do finish one. The Halloween start is very cute! I am with you on the charts. I prefer black and white because I make a working copy and use an erasable highlighter on it.

Oh! And on projects that are on dark fabrics...I wonder if it would help at all to stitch on white or cream and then stitch a thick outline in black or dark colors around the picture itself?? That way it pops still but is also eyeball friendly?? Hope that makes sense...

You have some great projects, Sean. Linen is not difficult. If you need help, I’m here to assist. I’ve been working on it for along time and I’ve never looked back. 😊 Keep me updated on stitchy news in the area. I prefer black & white charts but I’ll stitch from anything. You can always make a working copy to mark-up which leaves your original in pristine condition.

Congrats on Stitch-Con! Weekend B for me. I never mark my charts. I make a working copy (B&W) and mark that so I can sell the original or give away at a free table. Pattern Keeper is the app. But there are ways to do the same for iOS devices. I bought a tablet that is just for Pattern Keeper. The only other apps are TH-cam, Netflix, and a podcast app. Perfect for stitching while I work.

Congrats on getting into Stitch-con!! You’ll have a great time 😊. I also love a black and white pattern and I highlight. I will try to make a working copy of a color chart to black and white then try to make it as light as can. Sometimes I have to use a darker highlighter. You are so lucky to have so many cross stitch shops by you. I think we only have one in SoCal and it’s a trek for me.

Hello Sean! I just found your channel late tonite and enjoyed your walkabout the Always in Stitches shop. You were right when you said how Big the store was and the cross stitch section at the back was also very big! Nice! I think I also prefer black and white charts. I don’t mark off as I go. I bought some engineer tape and pull off a couple of pieces to mark the area I am stitching. Works well for me. Bought it at Michaels in the architect’s section. Easy to lift off to move around. I am excited to go to my first retreat next May here in Canada at Stitch North! I live nearby, so can drive there each day. I will look fwd to your next video! Cheers 🧑🏻‍🦰🍁🇨🇦

I prefer black/white copies. I am older and sometimes the colors are so dark I can’t see the symbols and sometimes the shades of colors are too similar for me to distinguish. It doesn’t stop me from stitching though! LOL Were you trying to think of Pattern Keeper? I just use paper patterns myself. I hope you find some people to stitch with. It gets lonesome by yourself. Pls keep the videos coming!

Hey hey! I will echo others who say E6000 to fix your needle minder. Mind your fingers or they’ll be stuck together for awhile. Welcome to evenweave and lugana stitching. I still like Aida sometimes, but I definitely have converted to preferring linen. I also much prefer black and white charts, hard copy or digital. My eyes struggle to differentiate symbols with color charts, especially when they use a symbol and a color. Just why?! 😂 I use Markup R-XP on my iPhone. Works similar to Pattern Keeper and I like it a lot for full coverage pieces so I don’t have to print hundreds of pages.

I prefer black & white charts as well. I don’t like to mark my patterns with a highlighter, so I photo copy in black & white, and presto, I have a black & white working copy! Were you referring to the app “Pattern Keeper?” A few in my stitching group uses this app. Our stitching group got started a month ago through Stitch Harmony that Pam & Steph (Just Keep Stitching) featured a stitcher near me. I was so excited, I contacted the Featured Stitcher & joined the group. We are now at 30. Hope Stitch Harmony finds local stitchers for you to stitch with. We are a fun group. We joke now that we are large enough to start our own weekend retreat! I bet you can find some stitchers in that shop you featured! What a cool store!

I hate color charts!! For the same reason you do. But it seems to be the way many designers are going, because I think many do like the colored charts. Here is a tip, go buy a white gel pen and you can use that to mark off stitches on a color chart. It works especially well if the chart colors are dark.
