If you Master the game you choose when to spray and when to tap. There are so many situations where a spray is nessesary! BUT most of the time you 1 or 3 fire on head, no doubt about that. But its a very good advice to aim first and shoot second bcs most players panic alot
Yeah there's no tip that you can apply to 100% of the scenarios you'll face in game. You have to learn when and what to choose to in every individual situation
imo the spray / tap decision is set by the distance your opponent is at, for example if you're close to the enemy and you try to tap you could miss your shot and he could deal more damage to you opposite to when he is far away and spraying doesn't do nearly as much damage as taps if you get to hit them
1 more tip : squeeze half slice of lemon in small glass of water. also lick the remaining lemonade fully. Its fasten ur reaction to 110% because it wakes you up fully. Trust me .
Honestly as simple as it sounds, this might unironically be the best advice.. I've recently been watching some of my most recent demos and have noticed that I shoot first and aim second and also panic whenever I see an enemy. Thanks a lot for this video I will practice until i feel comfortable and hopefully i'll see improvement over time :)
You're a great teacher and make really informative videos. This is all stuff that in 2015 when i started playing i had to figure out through very critical thinking about my game and eventually stumbled upon, and this is a treasure trove for a new player. Earned a sub man.
This is solid advice for causal play with average ppl. As soon as you hit higher ranks waiting 1-2 seconds will get you killed. Watch donk. He locks in fast and shots second as well but so fast that it all seems like one motion.
And that’s what you will be doing if you practice this like he said. He’s saying to wait 1-2 seconds on deathmatch while you are training your aim. Not in competitive matches. It teaches your body to start doing it naturally and quicker overtime. Why do you think donk is so fast? Practiced this his whole life. If you use this advice you will find yourself clicking heads without even having to think . Takes consistent practice. Then you’ll be clicking heads right when you see them…(like donk). It builds muscle memory.
While I had already gotten this conclusion from elsewhere, I'd like to say it's in fact useful. For the longest time I had no confidence that I'd hit the head so I always shot at the torso. It went on for so long that it got deep in my consciousness. The moment I thought of actively going for headshots, my mind was flabbergasted
I also noticed one thing holding me back from improving was tensing my arm and wrist when playing, especially in clutch scenarios. If you don’t relax your arm, you’re going to have very shaky and panicky aim. I clutched a 1v3 last night I wouldn’t have been able to clutch a few weeks ago, all because I stayed calm, and was confident I’d be able to click heads. Best thing is to work on actively improving. Don’t autopilot when you’re playing. Work on tracking, counter strafing, and play a lot of deathmatch. While playing deathmatch work on what you need to improve like peeking, crosshair placement, and positioning. I also use refrag for their awesome training modes.
It's the best advice. When I started 1.6 many [many] years ago I couldn't understand how everyone was so accurate in shooting heads til I realized that in pressured situations I actually wasn't going for headshots, I was just spraying and hoping to get a headshot before I was killed. Often in games I will tell myself to just click their heads after I whiff a spray or something like that. Just staying ice cold and tapping heads is a great confidence booster.
Ive played CS since beta 7.1 in 1999, I agree with this video. Crosshair placement is important when you're holding angles, if you're in the right place 99% of the time they will walk right into your crosshairs. In any other situation, I would say that Counter-Strafing is the most important. To many times (and im guilty of this myself) i see players just crouch to reduce the recoil, opening themselves up for an easy headshot. If you combine Crosshair placement with good Counter Strafing, you'll be in the top 3 every time.
Watched it 3 months ago and climped from Hardstuck Faceit Lvl 4 - 5 to lvl 8. But sometimes you have to choose the spray. But if you master the Spray, you dont need more than 3 - 4 Bullets of an rifle
I actually started doing something similar about a year ago. My version involves letting the enemy shoot first if they see me and if they don't see me, I get one shot to kill them, if I miss, I have to let them kill me (as like a punishment to give my brain a negative input when doing something wrong). This helps with two things 1. Figuring out if an enemy has spotted you or not. The amount of times i see people missing easy shots from behind the enemy is CRAZY and 2. Really helps you to understand how much time you actually have to line up a headshot. i hope atleast someone sees this and finds it useful LOL

Great video! Funny part is that I believe Nothing said something about taking your time in gunfights and properly aiming so that you get the kill/headshot. Nice advice!
The key to improving in competitive matches is to "aim first, shoot second." It's important to stay as calm as possible during games. I recommend starting with aim training on a bots map. Begin by using only the A and D keys for strafing, and shoot 1 to 3 bullets at a time before strafing again. Once you're comfortable, transition to Deathmatch, focusing on aiming and shooting at the head with any weapon of your choice. After practicing in Deathmatch, transfer those skills back to competitive play. I currently play at levels 5-7, while my teammates are at level 10 with over 10,000 hours in the game. I dedicate 30-50 minutes each day to train this specific aspect, as I have a habit of reacting too quickly and shooting before my crosshair is properly lined up with the target. Thanks for the video as it makes me more cinfidentthat this is the key even If I miss some 8000 hours of practice and competitive matches. I really struggle in pracc and ESEA but at least my teammates are happy and confident that I play with them.
this is true, right way to train. we only see the head, the body was gone, and then we go farther, we will forget about the crosshair, finally we just see the head and shoot, dont even need the time to make sure the crosshair is on the head, all the good AWPer is like this, but sometimes we miss, then just go back check where the crosshair is.

I personally feel like I’ve plateau at my aiming and gun fights. I’m always looking to improve and get better. I’m going to try this out over the next few weeks and I’ll definitely let you know.
Great video! I'll definitely start using audible counts before shooting. One thing, though: I highly recommend shooting in bursts instead of tapping with rifles during the warmup. This will help you actively adjust your crosshair during a gunfight and improve your tracking. The end goal should be to be able to track a moving target for brief periods of time to maximize your chance of hitting a headshot.
This is acceptable advice for low elo players, but at some point you're going to have to lose this method of aiming. I can see it working as a training regime until you feel comfortable with your sensitivity. However, the better you get the more you will start being killed instantly, but this is not because everyone is a flickshot beast. It's simply because of crosshair placement. When your crosshair placement is correct, you barely have to adjust your aim, just click M1. Feeling the game out and predicting whether the enemy will shoulderpeek or widepeek is what's going to win you those instadeath duels, placing your crosshair tight or wide to an angle. This is why, when you're trying to find a sensitivity that works for you, you should not use how many flicks you can hit as a metric. In reality, less than 10% of your kills are going to be flicks. My advice is to hop into a retake server (not deathmatch) and experiment with sensitivity until you find one that you feel comfortable tracing angles with, and swapping angles with.
Yes this technique is meant to improve your intention to hit headshots. The goal is to reduce the amount of time it takes you to see an enemy and aim properly at their head to as little time as possible. Once you reach a certain level of play the time becomes so short and the intention to go for a headshot becomes second nature, so yes high level players don't really need to focus on this as much. In general, high level players have already reached the peak of aim, and what matters more is to improve on positioning, decision making, and startegy etc. That being said, i still find this drill beneficial because sometimes even higher level players can forget to go for headshots which causes them to lose some aim duels.
hmm in solo higher level elo its mainly just positioning tbh everyone is headshotting 90% of kills rarely both people whiff at the same time, most ppl is focusing on how to be a hard target to hit. i mainly playy faceit when i jump on premier it is a very weird feeling that the enemies dont react at all , in my faceit elo everyyone is aware of everything happening already and im premier people are only aware (or ready for is a better way to put it) of what they see@@thatplayernyl
a larrge thing about not missing your shots is actually yourr focus llevel rather than aim. it isnt hardto move yourr mouse and everyone nowadays has a mousee with a great sensor and mousepad, ur simply moving your mouse, but if u can maintain a strong focus and ready for a peek from anywhere and also focus on the enemies head wwhen they swing at u on max velocity then u will hit most times, so diet hydration and sleep can make a big difference. this si where monitor rrefresh rates come useful too as ofc they dont makee you see things faster BUT they do make the game look smoother and clearer leading to less eye strrain AND less ghosting on strafing enemies.@@thatplayernyl another good point too add is also overplaying, if you are really trying to increase your elo its good to play only an amount of games that you can maintain a focus for, of course if your USED to slamming 10 back to back matches a day then yourr focus will last for longer as u have trained for it, quality over quantity i suppose, probably better to play 4 great matches where u dont miss a shot and 2hours of practice than 30mins practice and 6 matches with a 50%wr aiming is something that is over thought , simply just copy the way a professional aims, u can touch your rnose accurately im sure u can move a mouse side to side, practice a peerfect horizontal line, once u can do that u will hit most of your shots providing you have no emotional reaction when an enemy peeks you and u simply just try to heeadshot. i have given u maybye some thought topics for you to makeanother video, i have thought quite alot about aiming i have 7khours on my main account and more thousands elsewhere feel free to dm me
Yeah in a regular casual match this may not work in full lobbies. Which is where I typically play. Every angle is held and you get lasered instantly. The few ranked matches I've played i noticed are waaaay easier than casual. Ill try this, as i suck at games and the bot training thing is fine for like 5 mins but i can't do that for 2 hours a day or whatever people do
@@steakwilliams4448 this is just to improve your accuracy when aiming. When you're in a full lobby you're more likely to die because of bad positioning and poor engagement selection than because your aim is poor. Try limit your exposure to multiple people and angles and see if that makes a difference. Thanks for watching :D
@thatplayernyl oh yeah I definitely understand that. I bet you're right on the engagement selection and positioning thing. But my aim also sucks. I probably make the aiming harder by poor engagement selection and dog positioning

Let me put it like this. When you're pressing mouse 1, in like 90% of cases you will want to be standing still. Using an SMG/shotgun or being in extremely close quarters situations can warrant you shooting in motion, but in pretty much every normal situation you should be standing still

@@S3N0RVAC great question! I suggest you take extra time to be careful with your shot. Analyze the ADAD that the enemy is making. Hope you understand what I'm trying to say 😅

@@thatplayernyl I was messing with you but you're very true, 90%+ of people doesn't take that millisecondes to try to aim the head before firing and relies on other aspect
4:10 "upredictable human movements" - no, players are very much predictable and at higher levels there is a set of options. Thats why xhair placement matters (not only to aim at head level but predict if he is going to wide swing you or peek close) 5:30 - while it is a good practice and will get you out of silver, at higher levels the time to kill is insane and you wouldnt have time to even start counting.. If you are 98% + of the time in top 3 when playing official valve DM, switch to community servers. If not, then you lack mechanical skills
I wanted to at least play this game well, but it seems impossible to me, the skill level of all players always seems higher, besides it's very frustrating to miss shots and get hit in the head by a USP.. =(
I dont recommend this when above 2k elo. In many scenarios, you dont have time to aim and shoot second. Just shoot and quickly adjust where the opponent is moving. And try your best to control the spray if you miss the first shot
You should always be confirming the accuracy of your crosshair. This video dramatizes the process but that's to show the technique in a way people can understand. When you are skilled this whole process becomes very natural and takes a fraction of a second. I encourage people like you who think they don't have time to do this to try this the most. You will notice an improvement in your accuracy when you take just a little bit more time to aim
😭 sorry to hear that man. I hope you're not trying to only hit headshots though cuz that will make you perform worse. This technique is to help you get better at hitting headshots but you should not be only going for headshots all the time because sometimes it's not the right answer depending on the situation. I'll address this in a video soon when i talk about recoil control
@@thatplayernyl I did brother, it does not make any sense unless you're playing against casual players. People on warmup server kill in about .5s or lower idk. Taking my time when they kill me in the blink of an eye doesn't do anything for me.

That being said, i still find this drill beneficial because sometimes even higher level players can forget to go for headshots which causes them to lose some aim duels.
hmm in solo higher level elo its mainly just positioning tbh everyone is headshotting 90% of kills rarely both people whiff at the same time, most ppl is focusing on how to be a hard target to hit.
i mainly playy faceit when i jump on premier it is a very weird feeling that the enemies dont react at all , in my faceit elo everyyone is aware of everything happening already and im premier people are only aware (or ready for is a better way to put it) of what they see@@thatplayernyl
a larrge thing about not missing your shots is actually yourr focus llevel rather than aim. it isnt hardto move yourr mouse and everyone nowadays has a mousee with a great sensor and mousepad, ur simply moving your mouse, but if u can maintain a strong focus and ready for a peek from anywhere and also focus on the enemies head wwhen they swing at u on max velocity then u will hit most times, so diet hydration and sleep can make a big difference.
this si where monitor rrefresh rates come useful too as ofc they dont makee you see things faster BUT they do make the game look smoother and clearer leading to less eye strrain AND less ghosting on strafing enemies.@@thatplayernyl
another good point too add is also overplaying, if you are really trying to increase your elo its good to play only an amount of games that you can maintain a focus for, of course if your USED to slamming 10 back to back matches a day then yourr focus will last for longer as u have trained for it, quality over quantity i suppose, probably better to play 4 great matches where u dont miss a shot and 2hours of practice than 30mins practice and 6 matches with a 50%wr
aiming is something that is over thought , simply just copy the way a professional aims, u can touch your rnose accurately im sure u can move a mouse side to side, practice a peerfect horizontal line, once u can do that u will hit most of your shots providing you have no emotional reaction when an enemy peeks you and u simply just try to heeadshot.
i have given u maybye some thought topics for you to makeanother video, i have thought quite alot about aiming i have 7khours on my main account and more thousands elsewhere feel free to dm me
Bro I have some question is the sens important or just training with original sens and focusing on tech
me before watching this video: Shoot first, and aim second 😅. Thanks for these nice instructions by the way.
I used to think like that too 😂. You are welcome 😁
I probably make the aiming harder by poor engagement selection and dog positioning
love u bro and thx for this good video 🙏

Should i stop moving while shooting or how should i move
Let me put it like this. When you're pressing mouse 1, in like 90% of cases you will want to be standing still. Using an SMG/shotgun or being in extremely close quarters situations can warrant you shooting in motion, but in pretty much every normal situation you should be standing still

What to do if person in front does A then D followed by ADADADADA while spraying and they either kill just by body shots or 1 random headshot before you can align your headshot?
@@S3N0RVAC great question! I suggest you take extra time to be careful with your shot. Analyze the ADAD that the enemy is making. Most people make a predictable pattern when they ADAD and you can use it to predict where they will change directions. That is the point where you want to focus your aim at. Hope you understand what I'm trying to say 😅
put your crosshair in the middle of their strafe and wait till they cross back and fire rather than following them back and forth

Yeah gonna have to make a whole other video covering this one
@@thatplayernyl I was messing with you but you're very true, 90%+ of people doesn't take that millisecondes to try to aim the head before firing and relies on other aspect
0:49 what is your crosshair code pls
4:10 "upredictable human movements" - no, players are very much predictable and at higher levels there is a set of options. Thats why xhair placement matters (not only to aim at head level but predict if he is going to wide swing you or peek close)
5:30 - while it is a good practice and will get you out of silver, at higher levels the time to kill is insane and you wouldnt have time to even start counting..
If you are 98% + of the time in top 3 when playing official valve DM, switch to community servers. If not, then you lack mechanical skills

When i see my enemy and start to aim i dont even move my mouse cus i died
I dont recommend this when above 2k elo. In many scenarios, you dont have time to aim and shoot second. Just shoot and quickly adjust where the opponent is moving. And try your best to control the spray if you miss the first shot
You should always be confirming the accuracy of your crosshair. This video dramatizes the process but that's to show the technique in a way people can understand. When you are skilled this whole process becomes very natural and takes a fraction of a second. I encourage people like you who think they don't have time to do this to try this the most. You will notice an improvement in your accuracy when you take just a little bit more time to aim
for 2days i tried your techniques the thing is my aim is getting worse, im getting deleted even at 9.3k. i used to be 12k just 2 days ago
