I could have saved him a lot of trouble. The motivation of a stranger in a parking lot is...that person has no motivation. Now, imagine the motivation of a concierge at a grand hotel. That person is concerned that you have a good day so that you will return on future vacations or tell your friends. So, you stay one night in the best hotel you can afford and ask the concierge what the best way to travel cheaply and safely in Morocco. They will tell you there is a Taxi Kabir and they will tell you how it works. Problem solved. And once you know the answers to your questions, you'll have no need of standing around in a parking lot awaiting a good Samaratan - a plan that wouldn't be likely to work in any part of the world.

Millions of Moroccans who live in Europe or elsewhere are seen by Moroccans al foreigners , even if they lived for 40 years in morocco and 40 years in Europe . So it's no shame

This predictation is less profound then it may seems. Paul Bowles is just stating the historic development of mankind. Just look at the history and all empires and war and different civilizations. From the ancient Asian civilizations that are still unknow to the Americas. No civilization stays the same. This process will be sped up by the ease of travel.

Yeah ! i'm from there .Its secret is that it devores all the time you have in your hand. You come for a while to relax or to take a decision , your time will pass and no decision will be taken ; but at least this time passes with no suffering. .It's one of the most "cleen" cities of Morocco .WELCOME :)

      Pros:
more organized than common Moroccan cities, proximity with Europe, amazing and tempered weather, intrinsically cosmopolitan, affordable compared to Casa and Marrakech, proximity with gems of villages and beaches.
      Cons:
windy and cold in winter compared to the rest of Morocco, some products coming from southern Morocco can be expensive, given the amazing current economic boom real estate is increasing, very little English spoken today in daily life: you will have to learn French or Darija ...it is easy
