The purpose of his video is to show process. He has an exhaust fan that causes major air movement over the surface. This blows away shielding gas. They normally run with the curtain closed as well, which helps. I have personally welded with that guy, and can promise, nobody can run wire like him. How about we just thank him for giving us his time?

I would like you to do this video again, explaining what the gap is, thickness, torch angle, inter pass temp and wire + gas combination.
If you could, would you also place a light source to illuminate the underside of the plate.
Your torch holding technique is interesting, some words about that perhaps?
It’s obvious that you can weld, all we want to do is to learn a percentage of your skill.

Still being a student, I think it's OK as long as it will be welded on top of it anyway, but nevertheless I have zero tolerance for them as I think it's good practice to do so. If I do get porosity in my cap welds, I just grind them off to re-weld it, or grind the whole bead off, and weld the whole thing again.

It happens when your nozzle gets plugged up with spatter, plus he is running OVERHEAD. Very common to happen, it's always wise to clean the nozzle every pass

Turn the fan off that's stealing your gas. I literally welded in 95 degree heat over the summer. Lay your welds then turn the fan back on to cool off.

Them worm holes in the second pass. If it’s hot enough it will burn them right out.

The porosity or even gas pore cover up well done, wouldn't pass ndt. Would be worth showing what happens when you fuck up tho. To much heat in plate explain etc.
