Thanks, I have one a tad more basic and it is a fantastic light and with good features, I really like the cord control vs another remote floating around the house. Thanks man!!

Good review. I'm also looking into the Hygger, they have really good reviews. Saving money for my next 47 gallons and a light from this brand :D

Patty, I have tried a Hygger but programming is on my model, a pain, unplug by accident and I have to programme again. And you can't have a Walstad two period photo cycle in a 24 hour day, my preference to stabilise pH.
I certainly don't need low intensity, I certainly don't need to play around with the spectrum and I don't want moonlight and I certainly don't want 'disco' settings.
I have found the light low in intensity and not adequate for carpeting plants, despite an online review finding the PAR very competitive with Fluval lights. It also gets hotter than I expected.
The mixed LEDs BGR and white do seem to help with fish colours. But on my tank, 18 inches back to front, I need to run at least two other LED bars to make the tank bright enough to grow a good range of light hungry plants.
I have tried Nicrew in the past, fine for crypts but not bright enough for a wide range of more light demanding plants.
These lights are not that expensive but in terms of lumens per watt there are lots of lights designed for outdoor areas, warehouses, shops, hydroponics etc., which will give a lot more 'bang for your buck'.
Will be interested to find out what you think in a few months.

Awesome thank you for your input! While like the 24/7 programs I currently am not using it. I have it set at 100% intensity and hooked up to my timer with all my lights in my fish room.
Im trying to use it the exact same hours as my shop lights to get a better comparison between the lights.
I definitely like the non yellow tint from this light and the colors of the fish better but I obviously need to see how the plants react to it.
      Thanks for watching 😁👍

I actually don't have that model as it's not available in Canada.
I would love to borrow a light meter when I test/ review the light.
I have always liked how long the cords are with this company.

I have an older hygger planted 27/7 light, my main complaint with it is that you can't adjust the LEDs in full spec mode separately and I find the blue is way too strong. This one with the diy capability so you can adjust that looks like a great improvement! I do think I like the older metal legs a little better, but that's not as important. Nice review, Patty! 🙂👍

Thanks Tara, so far I’m liking the quality of the light and definitely the look of everything in the tank with it. Once I use it a while and see how my plants react and algae react I can get a complete opinion on it but so far I love it.

I loooove the Hygger lights. They are higher quality then Nicrew and other no name brands and cheaper than Chihiros or some super expensive JBL Solar Stinger stuff. They have evolved over time and keep perfecting the light. The older ones werent as good tho but the one with the 24 hour cycle which you can adjust yourself and those who have alot of red and blue leds are the best ones!
One bad thing tho, the power supply for these gets hot as hell if run at 100% so I always would recommend going to 80% instead.
Been using Hygger lights for... 3 years now

@pattys_aquatics yeah just gotta watch the algae issue that comes with stronger lights, experiment with the adjustments, u can have all the plants in the world but those lights will bring the algae if left on too long ! I have several different programmable lights and 9 out 10 times can't even use 50% of their capacity

    • @pattys_aquatics
      @pattys_aquatics  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

You absolutely can remove the clips. They are meant to sit on the edges of the tank but it doesn’t work if you use a cover like I do. I actually took mine off a few weeks ago and works fine.
