I'm just amazed at the fact that she literally learned to play basketball for this role. She could've fooled the hell out of me. 🤣😭
Still my favorite movie to this day. Hits so many notes for me personally.
They just dont make movies like this anymore...
SunKissNicole agreed
no lie fr fr
Sorry to be off topic but does anyone know a trick to log back into an instagram account??

My favorite movie of all time 😍😍😍😍
They are so correct, this is a true universal love story. I remember 20 years ago 2001 when I first started college. I went to a predominantly white school and so many of the girls loved and watched this movie in their dorms...it resonated with them as well.

Geez Sanaa Lathan gorgeous af
Right !!!
Sanaa is 49 years old now. So was 29 back then! She has barely aged.
Still one of my faves❤️
Never gets old!
Such a classic black film!!! This, love jones and The Best Man are the Holy trinity of black rom-coms.
No disagreement here
I never got the fuss about Love Jones. Hav Plenty was good.
Basketball saved my life as i had nothing else to rely on as a kid. This movie is special to me because its hard to find someone who shares that love of the game that way.
One of my ALL time favorite movies! I still get just as emotional watching it now as I did over 20 years ago!
Love this movie. Still watch it today. Omar did his thang. Hats off to the both of you❤
Gina, the director and writer wanted Mekhi Phifer to be Quincy. He had another project so he couldn't do it, and Omar Epps auditioned and the rest was history.
Happened perfectly.
Mekhi Phifer should had played the Best Man or The Wood instead of Tay Diggs. Tay was a bad actor for those movies. It was like Tay Diggs trying to play a black man
@@chickgeorge2341 is Tay Diggs not black?
@@datawizard5517 Nahh he isn't
It would’ve been just as good though with Mekhi 🥰
in 2022 still enjoy watching this 🏀this couple was very convincing as 2 ball players
They were also dating at the time which is why they had great chemistry. Just in the scenes where they made out they went full out because they were together at the time and could do that. Usually in movies they have "movie kisses" where it's sort of a pretend kiss. In this movie they went all the way. Not to harp on kissing but it helped to make them look believeable as a couple and aided with their chemistry. I totally love the movie.
My favorite movie of all time and they dated in real life!
rlly??🥺i didn’t know tht😭😭😂
@@cassiesarchives they didn’t date😂
NO WAYYY

Love & Basketball is almost 23years old...
I LOVE this film so much. I’ve watched it at least once a year since it came out! 💓🥰🥰💓
My all time favorite movie, u'll chemistry was bomb.
"I'll play you for your Heart"‼️
All their hard work payed off they did a great job playing their roles 🥳🎊🎊 my favorite movie of all time.
just timeless
A classic
My all time favorite! A classic
Still my favorite film and I watched when I was like 14. I’m 36 now
So now you are 37❤
I love omar Epps movie
I wanna see the deleted scenes sooo baddd
They're on TH-cam!
such a good movie
When you are literally playing basketball for your school or college as this comes out and know that there are girls that play too, for the school team or another team. It's the best competition, especially to a girl who knows how to play. She is trying to beat you lol : ).
The two characters were also dating "on the low"
She learned in 5 months
This movie is GEM 💎 and we haven't seen one like this sense Hollyweird makes sure black couples kissing isn't a reality so I really appreciate Love and Basketball
Loved this movie
It's 22years old now...
Such a classic
Aaaaa, esse filme é simplesmente perfeito!!! Não sei porque ninguém fala dele, juro. Tudo de bom!!!❤❤❤
Gabrielle Union auditioned for the role of Monica but they chose Sanaa.
As they should
And I'm glad they chose Sanaa!
Hood classic
I love how it is sneakily meant to be a motivational ‘Black’ movie, where the parents want them to see pass basketball and money that unfortunately surrounds them due the parents themselves. His father being a past basketball player and her father being a bank hard worker. Ball & money.
“I know you gotta lotta strength left~…” idk😌😏this MIGHT be my favorite movie y’all
A good movie
Well said"
The days are getting shortened, Jesus is coming back soon. accept the free gift of salvation. turn away from sin with the help of Jesus. ♥️
Part two with the same cast if possible
Neither one has looked like they aged a day.
Great movie.
Black don't crack baby
Unless you do Crack
@@hazybliss4069 true😂💯
i need a beautiful girl baller like sanna i love her
Why am I just seeing this?????????
What’s up
They were dating "on the low"
Sigh.. .my black card may get revoked. But, I've never seen this classic😔
JG J whaaaat 🤧🤧😱😱😱
You serious.. Omg😔
WHAT
JG J have you seen it yet?
Oh lawd
She waste all that beauty 🤦🏾♂️
Why you say that?
@@Jay42000 no marriage no kids. Can’t keep a man
I’m assuming she doesn’t need a man to validate her existence. Plus she probably realizes all the dust that’s walking around and DECIDED to be single and childless.
@@biggeneraltruckn5797 a woman's value is definitely not based on whether she managed to bag a guy and bear him a child. I can't believe there are still people out there with this type of mindset.
This movie put Sanaa in the “bank” for real😁🫡
