    I spotted the mate in 2, but definitely couldn't spot the sequence of absolute savagery that ensued after he declined M2 and chose violence

    A good old Video of Eric Rosen having fun with a gambit. That is what I came 3 years ago and that is what I've been staying for.

    I wish people would go into Danish gambit, it's so fun to play, but most players I play against just declines them :(

      @kruksog ปีที่แล้ว +42

      Yea, literally the only times I've got a full Danish accepted was with people I already have a rapport with and they agree to go into it. Otherwise I've only ever had it declined.

      everyone accepts it for me personally, I normally just play Nxc3 danish as it's more consistent but everyone accepts the triple gambit for me and i usually do fairly decent. The only drawback being d5 kinda muting ur gambit.

    • @paranormal17
      @paranormal17 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I used to decline it automatically then learned the d5 Nf6 line which kind of takes all the fun out of the gambit for white

    Sometimes when I play I get mad because I have a huge material advantage but my opponent is still outplaying me. Really goes to show how important king safety is as you climb the rating ladder.

    • @tellahsage6477
      @tellahsage6477 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      King safety is important at all levels of chess i'd say, if you've got your king right in the middle of the board with tons of enemy pieces pointed at him, even the noobiest patzer may be able to checkmate you by just giving random checks.

  • @brummi9869

    Let me chronicle all the "mate in" points of this game:
    - 6:57 Mate in 10, Eric actually played the correct moves and at 9:20 it was a mate in 8
    - 9:25 King takes is a blunder, it's now mate in 2 (Qg6+,ke7, Nd5#)
    - 9:35 Mate in 11 gets down to a mate in 9
    - 11:00 the castle check, while being funny is a blunder, when he plays kc5 the position is now -2.69 nice
    - 11:28 no actually stockfisch thinks Rook to d5 is a mistake; after pawn to e6 the position is -6.95
    - 11:40 mate in 9
    - 11:45 King to e7 is a blunder (correct move knight to d4) with obviously mate in 1

    After 5...Nc6 6.Nf3 we reached a Göring Gambit by transposition (1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.d4 exd4, or 2.d4 exd4 3.Nf3 Nc6, and then 4.c3 dxc3 5.Bc4 cxb2 6.Bxb2). I had a feeling that the game would go this way, as although 5...Nc6 encouraging this transposition is objectively one of Black's best responses to the Danish, the resulting positions are often a lot of fun to play for White.
