I once 3 bet with pocket Jacks... Some folded some played in the tournament. I won that hand becasue a J came on the flop.. Nobody wanted to play after that lol

Made this mistake earlier in a tournament. Had suited QJh in middle position, raised it up and got reraised by the small blind. I flatted and flop came Q64 with two hearts. I barreled into the guy, missed the flush draw but had top pair on the river. I went for a small 1/4 pot bet and guy jammed river and I snap called only to run into pocket 6s for a flopped set. When he calls a triple barrel down and there is no flush or straight on the board, something should be ringing alarm bells.
There was a video I seen recently from I believe GTOgiraffe talking about there was a correct GTO spot where QJsuited 3,4 bet bluffs and jams alot of the time. I was playing a turbo tournament so not sure if I made the right choice by flatting. Small blind reraising is usually pretty strong, well beyond pocket 6s strong. Anyone think 3 betting would have been the better option there?

I saw a hand where early position opened, middle position player 1 3-bets, then middle position player 2 4-bets, and Jungleman in late position insta-mucks his pocket jacks. At the time I thought it seemed marginally nitty but looking at these charts I understand exactly why he did it. Also, it was the correct fold not just in theory but in practice too - he was up against KK, AA, and AK.
Also Jonathan sometimes sounds like a disappointed Dad who already told his kids twice where they were going, yet the kids keep asking
U are the best Jon.. I had ak off last week 80 bb deep . I 3 bet big blind called.. flop 10 5 8.. I raised 3 bb he called turn 2. I raised 13 bb he shoved 😆
i was having the typical nit problem of running into aggression whenever i missed flops after i RFI / 3bet / 4bet, and somehow everyone check/folds whenever i hit it, and your breakdowns have helped so much, i am really finding table image means so much, and staying a step ahead of whatever story my actions are telling, and just bluffing more honestly, forces ppl to over fold or give me action when i have it
your advice to "let them bet" when faced with overly aggressive ppl is killer too, i used to try to out-bully them when i had it but then they just get away, now i tank-call first two streets acting like i'm on a draw and they just throw money at me lmao
If you find yourself at a table where your image has become a nit it can result in a huge upswing if you play it right.
1. It opens your range because people will believe your bets more often
2. By playing weak in the hands you’re strong you’ll get paid off because an agro player will believe they can over bet you off pots
3. If you want to get really fun you can do the following: say you were proven to be a NIT by having to show your cards in a bad showdown or a bad face up fold and now everyone knows that if you’re betting you probably have the nuts. Sneak a bluff through at some point after this and show the bluff. Now your bets are polarized and your range is way harder to read (assuming you played the nuts the same way you played the bluff).
This is the spot I’ve seen the best results after the NIT label.

Two hands that get people i trouble are QK, and KJ,,,,,and ace rag,,,,,People call with these hands on 3 or 4 bet raises....
I also here people say they have a set, when it's actually three of a kind and or trips

I think I identified one of the most dangerous thoughts in poker, especially with these kinda of hands: "Well I am chipleader"... Got loose and splashy and ended up loosing a big pot lol
17:00 this is a spot when i tend to slowplay a bit because of the propriety of my hand, but i should actually don't care and build the pot even with spades covered
So i think it always just depends on ur opponent its ridiculous to teach someone to play a certain way. Because if ur opponent likes to check raise bluff u should play differently vs if this person never check raise to bluff. U missing on a lot of money if u arent the aggressor betting because then u are guessing what to do
It’s playstyle… u can fold the ak if u bluff bet didnt work and got check raised. U gonna take down majority of pot with a high if u bet the flop vs if u check people gonna catch something on u when u coulda won A high

Lol if u bet the flop with 7 he could raise or could fold… again it just depends on ur playstyle… if u raise i see him call looking for flush check on turn and then u can check check on turn. Its because ucheck the flop he feels like he can bluff and bet the turn. I would always rather be the aggressor bet fold and win more hands from betting.

Because if opponent knows you will fold most most of the time there, he can just go all-in and build a massive chip lead even though he doesn't have anything.
I know there are spots where we call all-ins, but they seem rare in gto.
Especially in tournaments, you invest so much in a hand playing GTO, opponent goes all-in, you fold and now you're playing from behind with half a stack.
A hand like this can literally be game losing.

You fold your marginal made hands. You don't fold with your premium hands (which you would have played in the same manner).
From my basic understanding, making a value bet with a not so great hand here makes an easy decision to fold vs a BB check raise. While making the same bet with your best hands would make for an easy decision to call vs a BB check raise
Seems like you're trying to get the value from your hand here, while also protecting yourself from ending up in this same spot with a better hand than QQ but not a premium hand
You will lose a lot no matter how well you play. You can't avoid it. By playing well you will lose less often lose for shorter periods (possibly) and be harder to play against.

24:06 “pot committed is if you have at least 20% equity” - you later say a 76 spades wasn’t pot committed. But wouldn’t your equity on the River be 24%? 9 spades and 3 additional none spade 8?
That would be your equity on the turn, not on the river
