I'm always happy when problems turn to be things like that haha. It's embarrassing but it's better than having a real problem!

Got a stubborn header exhaust leak. I removed my old Uel headers and ran some cheap eBay ones. I sold them a while back and threw my old ones on. When I was driving on the freeway and got off I heard a very loud exhaust leak. Now I’ve taken them off and on at least 20 times and still can’t figure out why it’s leaking. I’ve tried soapy water and that don’t work. You can only hear the leak when in boost. Or giving a little gas never at idle. How can I pin point where it’s coming from?

It could be a small crack of some sort. Best way I can think of is plug all holes, and put some smoke through it. Home made smoke machine with a mason jar, 2 holes in the lid, 2 hoses in the holes, siliconed works great. Oily rags for smoke

Loaded question... how do you break in EJ motors? I know there is a lot of info out there but was curious what your process is.

      I think I might have a video on it, I can’t remember
I do startup, bleed coolant system make sure no leaks. 50 miles, no steady rpm, as much engine breaking as possible. Oil change
Then 500 miles, varying rpm, oil change
Another 500 miles, varying rpm, oil change
Then I can start tuning/boost. Some boost before I’m ok with I just don’t do any pulls. Not saying this if the best way, it’s just how I’ve done it based off what I’ve found from others who have a lot of Subaru knowledge
      Another 500 miles, n
