So if you're standing at the end of the garden (the old wall) and facing Oheka, and you look to your left rear, that's the house I grew up in. Our property was also part of the gardens at one time, and some of the marble steps and benches are still there in their original places, as we never moved them....... We moved there in 1967, my mom lives there now, but it is now up for sale ( in case anyone is interested..lol). When we moved there the place was a military academy (Eastern Military Academy), when it was abandoned, it became a place for us to play in (they left a couple of tanks just inside the front gate house..... interesting fact was that the old bankster Otto (he was involved in setting up the FED) wanted to build his castle on the highest point of Long Island, to show us gentiles, but the joke was on him, as Jaynes Hill across Jericho Turnpike, in West Hills, is higher. There is/was an old tunnel that went down towards Cold Spring Harbor (that's what you saw) that was a really cool place to investigate, and fountains all throughout the wooded areas of what is now Cold Spring Country Club....it was a great place to grow up, with something new to discover periodically....
HI, I was a CADET at EMA in the 1970's. I can walk that whole place with my eyes closed. Let me ask you, I'm sure that you visited inside the building. Do you remember the MARBLE STAIRCASE that was across from the elevator? It is no longer there. It was the MAJOR point of the house. I used to slide down it all the time. And, when we SNUCK out at night and ventured into Huntington, I would use this staircase, then slip out the STUDY (This guy calls the STUDY a Library).
@@ZeroCelsius777 After they closed the Academy, the place became a real mess. Punks would continually set fires in it, when we would go inside nothing was recognizable...I remember the staircase AND the two tanks that sat inside the front gate, we used to play in them... lol
@@johnmosby2631 Cool! When you look at the west side of the building past the garden from your house, that 2nd floor window all the way to the right (front) was my room. I shared it with 2 others (3 people). Wish you the Best!
When I was a kid growing up in Syosset, Oheka Castle had been abandoned so my friends and I would go there at night and explore it. You think you know scary until you’ve crept around an abandoned castle at night! A good friend of mine would hold his annual corporate Christmas party here after it was reopened. Talk about surreal!
Thank you Joey for the tour it was interesting and beautiful. To think, London has beautiful castles in which regular people own. It must feel great to own and live in a castle 🏰 or mansion, one would hope it’s not just 2 people living in these beautiful dwellings. These structures were built to serve very large families, I know if I ever owned anything like this, I would have my sister’s family and my mother and her husband and of course my family live happily ever after. “You can dream, right “ anyway have a wonderful time with Julia. 😃
Very beautiful. I don’t know which room is my favorite. The decor in the rooms were unbelievable. I will never make it there, so I’m glad I got to see your tour. I’m disappointed you didn’t show your room.
You can enjoy and touch because everything is a replica here... vs the Biltmore and Vanderbilt etc its all original and likely would be destroyed if anyone sat in it ONCE... #dryrot
If it isn't the King & Queen of Wildwood. You both are lookin fabulous and I could see you both owning this one day when Julia's business blows up. 😉😎 Really nice place.
Hi, I grew up there in the 1970's when it was one of the most prestigious Military Prep Schools (Eastern Military Academy). I learned to swim in that pool. It is located more under the PARAPET. At 3:32 of this video, when you are in that archway the entrance to the pool is there to your right. You go down some stairs.
Yes, it stands for his name: Otto Herman Kahn, hence O -HE -KA. He was a cool dude Monopoly charger with mustage was build after him literally since he got rich financing railroads. He was the real life monopoly man. Lol
please don't chop edit, especially not drone pans... speed it up if you need to! that chop edit made me sick. only can think it felt like a strobe. some movie did it too, a Woody Allen maybe? or maybe it was Clockwork Orange ? Cw O had lots wrong, only one i had to leave, couldn't watch 100% ... vs a handful had to re-watch (usually for falling asleep ) 8-0
This video is a non-stop celebration of the face of the narcissistic numbskull that is seen in the opening of this demonstration of me-me-me. Somewhere inside all of this is a castle.

Is the swimming pool under the parking lot?

Are you chewing on something during the video? Trying to figure out what that sound is.
At least try. It's library. Just a smidge too ghetto for this platform. 😂
It’s not pronounced “O-HECK-A,” it’s pronounced “O-He-Ka.” (He as in him.)
Yes, it stands for his name: Otto Herman Kahn, hence O -HE -KA. He was a cool dude Monopoly charger with mustage was build after him literally since he got rich financing railroads. He was the real life monopoly man. Lol
Lol, that pool is abandoned? Not what I expected. No rich dude wants to live there?! I know what I do if Bitcoin finally rockets 😄

It’s haunted
One important fact left out: it was built on this site as it is the highest point on Long Island.
It's the second highest point... Jaynes's Hill, in West Hills Park, is the highest point... the joke's on Otto.
It wasn’t the highest point. Otto had thousands of truckloads of earth brought in to make it one of the highest points on the island.
Who goes from 432 acres to 16 ???
Dude, Learn how to pronounce library corrrectly
😂 lie-bary
Sorry take credit. I mentioned it after you😂 stupid ridiculous. Who is the ugly man w joey (kangaroo) ? His English is better than theirs
