Doesn’t matter who wrote what if your flow and delivery are really bad. You can tell the best joke but if the delivery is poor no one will laugh. It’s the same thing with rap. Flow matters a lot and benzino just had no flow at all

"who really won?" I'll do you better: "who is Benzino?"
No lie I've heard his name for years but I watched this video to find out who benzino actually was.
Was on Love & Hip Hop and then was that shit he even got booted off that too

*Proceeds to diss Obie Trice, 50, and Dre
you know there's a lot of white people that got more interested in this type of music because of Eminem. if anything, all these guys made more money because of him. I got to be honest today is the first day I ever heard of this dude.
but then I'm more of a Kevin Gates fan.
Benzino needs to get a go fund me account to get into a nursing home ASAP
One thing that you did not mention. I had a subscription to both XXL and The Source. During those beefs Aftermath and Interscope Records decided to no longer advertise in the source magazine. Once they remove their advertisements, that’s when the magazine, the source start going down hill under sales. Every new episode of the source got thinner thinner my XXL was growing and growing.
I remember that , The Source in 99 2000 was crazy, by 2005 got really whack
Yes sir I remember that. The source magazine was great but then they started publishing what they wanted instead what the fans wanted
I don't need to watch a 46 minute video to know that Em literally buried Benzino's career. 😂
A better tittle would be “why you’ve never heard of benzino”
Eminem was like

I really never heard of him. Why do people act like Eminem destroyed him? Who was he? Iam from the Netherlands and Benzino was never a name here. People act like he destroyed Drake or Kanye but that Benzino was probably just a star in America.

I remember the first time I heard Benzino rap, I will never forget it. It was 2012 and I was at my uncle’s house, he’s disabled after he was in a car accident back 1992. Unfortunately he was paralysed from the neck down. So I was browsing TH-cam and “pull your skirt up” came on…miraculously my uncle leapt from his wheelchair, dived across the room and grabbed my phone. He then proceeded to stamp it until it was no more. 20 years without being able to move and he was cured by hearing Benzino “rap”.
You must be young, Benzino had a hit in 2002/3 named "Rock the party" , it was getting spins, probably his only song that was somewhat ok. Other than that , all the songs i heard were whack.

Benzino: "I can't make a diss record on my mother and be successful."
Fool...you can't make any record successful.
Funny is that Em has at least 2 songs aimed at his mom and both of these records, not combined, are more succesfull than Benzino will ever be.
Some people have shity parents and upbringing ppl are allowed to use their trauma however he wants it’s no one’s place to tell others how to tell their stories

black struggle. that's where this whole beef really stems from. kinda why they'll always be hate for em in the culture. it is what it is.
Mom: What're you watching?
Me: Oh just this dude going in-depth about the Eminem and Benzino beef.
Mom: Who's Benzino?
Me: Exactly.
Damn I remember dat beef like it was yesterday😌😌It was Shady Records vs Everyone.
The first line in the song when he said “coming up it never mattered what colour you was if you could spit then you you could spit that’s it that’s what is was”. That’s all that needed to be said. He won the battle right there
The craziest thing is that zino did have a point with the double standard the media had for black artists vs white artists, it's just that dissing Em was way unjustified, the stupidest thing he could have done, and ultimately destroyed any conversation about those double standards that could have happened
That is, if that was his reason in the first place. I think he was just clout chasing cuz Em was big and probably turned down a feature or something.
That being said, I had no idea that clown threatened Em's daughter. That's fucking pathetic.
Bro you dont understand that he start to shyt on Em as a way to insert himself in the 50/Ja Rule beef and at the same time be this "pro black hero", and hee wasnt gonna diss 50 directly so who was he gonna diss ? , in his head it wad the perfect move , pull the race card and insert himself in the most viral beef at the moment to create some time of buzz for his trash music.
Yeah… wildly unpopular opinion I know but personally I don’t understand Eminem’s place in the pantheon. He is a good rapper, I just don’t think he is a great rapper, and I suspect that part of it was bc the powers that be recognised that they could make a lot of money by pushing him. IMO he is not on the level of Nas or Big or Rae/Ghost/Gza or less commercially successful rappers like Mos or Kweli or Cee-lo.
Having said that it’s not really just a race thing, he is not the first artist and won’t be the last who has been pushed because he has the right look / persona. Or even charisma, that is very subjective, Pac was not the best rapper imo but had charisma by the bucketload and although I don’t see it in Eminem perhaps others do.
Eminem could literally burp in the mic and it would sell more copies than Benzino
Eminem had two #1 albums in the same year with no promotion, and Benzino started an OnlyFans.

Nick Cannon is Far far far from Benzino. First of All Eminem started the beef with Nick Cannon by talking shit about his Wife. Em needs to understand that if he went at someone’s wife like that and they lived that hardcore Gangsta life, they would have whooped his ass or worse. He’s Lucky Nick isn’t like that. Second Benzino started the beef with Em the same way Em started the beef with Nick, except Again for Em to diss someone’s wife, he should walk the streets strapped tbh. Also I just want to say Look up a Dude by the name of Paul C. Dude was dope and was killed in his home ask Benzino who did it.
The beef with Eminem killed Benzino's career and when benzino tried to make it personal that was the end of the source magazine

I kind of feel like Benzino wasn't lying about why he dissed Eminem in the first place, but I don't think Em was wrong either. @Mike M I heard of Benzino. Of course I am probably a lot older than you. Benzino from Boston and he is a lot older than the rappers today. He probably in his mid Fifties. He was in a group called Almighty RSO, Made Men and Hangmen 3. Most people who know him that are from Boston. I myself is not from Boston but I am from the Old School of Hip Hop. I grew up reading the Source magazine back in the day. I have heard from a few people that a lot of people hate Benzino from Boston. He has moved to Atlanta now. Most people know him from Love and Hip Hop. But yeah I can understand that you haven't heard of Benzino. He a dope rapper but yeah Eminem beat him on the lyrics.

Bruh his reasoning for dissing Eminem is literally the laziest thing
Yes, Benzino’s complaint seems very fake / contrived, as a way to leech off Em’s success. It just looks very clear, now that I see him and hear him, in this vid. Plus it seems vaguely racist, and plus this vid showed me that he sucks at rapping too. His rhymes are simple and often not even actually rhymes, from the clips in this vid, I wasn’t impressed at all.
Yes, Benzino! When you have more skill, and better lyrics, you sell more records. That's how the free market works!
You did and amazing job brother you’re gonna have to update it with everything going on now! One quick thing, Marshall Mathers LP is Em’s THIRD ALBUM, The Eminem Show is his FOURTH and so on

Benzino could've used his platform to put on lesser known artists, provide resources for them to flourish and let them use that platform to stand independently without the machine. He instead used it to waste our and his time recording wack ass music. Em might not be the poster child for Black excellence, but Benzino had the tools the solve the problems he was addressing and wasted them... which makes him look worse in my eyes.
You know what, you just nailed it. Benzino was in position to help out the young mcs coming up. So his excuse that he was going at the machine was obvious bullshit. He was just trying to get people on board with him. He failed miserably if that's what he was really upset about. But we know it wasn't. He didn't give a fuck about nobody. If he really didn't have something different from all those other dudes besides skin color he'd never have made it.
I mean that's your ''uneducated' opinion as a student of the hip hop culture there is nothing historically you could ever tell me my own culture. Perhaps alot of what you described is what made eminem relate to guys like you and the majority of his fanbase. The corp hip hop fans could never relate to the content of his dark music . Although he was lyrical, he was not the first to rapper that could freestyle or scheme lol. This is why i called your opinion uneducated. Eminem was the kind of rapper that spent the majority of his time going at pop stars eg: brittney spears, christina, mariah carey, lol and guys like benzino nick cannon whom he thought were easy targets. Despite eminem being more lyrical, Benzino was 100 percent accurate in what he was explaining the double standard that existed.
