    Got a fair bit done in this episode mate, nice work! 😎👌.
    If you want to improve stability on the AE, you can use OHD 1 tires with the dual wheels at the back, it can handle more sketchy angles without tipping. It doesn't loose grip either because although technically the tires have worse traction in the mud, the width of the rears compensate for it. I used the Paystar 5600TS for long logs with the same setup and it was also quite stable, but it uses boat loads of fuel as you are aware 😅. That being said, your getting the job done so take it with a grain of salt 😎👍

      Thanks! I keep forgetting to check dual rears on trucks, but that's a good shout for the AE. I've only used it for logging, which is about the higher centre of gravity you can get. What I really want is a gyro and some thrusters. 😉👍🏼
      (I've been playing a lot of SE recently, inspired by your series!)

    Looks like the Azov 7's got a case of the tumbles. As long as the job gets done and you have a good drive though, all that matters. The tipping issue itself? It's most likely a combination of things, logs seem to make vehicles a lot more prone to wobble and tip. Plus a logging crane, plus the slight increase to height when lifted. That and whatever the line and terrain when the tip happens.
    Cab view is fine, but it always feels super risky to me, especially on hard. Especially if recording and not just recovering or resetting a task if need be. It's also way harder to tell when you're in danger of tipping from the inside, apart from maybe using Poghrim's inclinometer mod (haven't tested extensively). That and might impact where you can quickly fling the camera for an emergency quick winch being in first person. As well as a good view of the surroundings. Even in third person, sometimes a dangerous sneaky chunky rock might get missed (the kind that look fine, but drive over and "uh oh") or getting stuck on a root.
    Since this is still a vanilla run thus far, what I'm about to say not an option. But just for your own private shenanigans someday? Since you like first person, there's a few mod trucks with backup/side cameras which are nice in first person, and there's at least one I can think of, the Tacoma by Iceberg that's got a front cam I think. Also, a couple scouts at least, and maybe a few others that sometimes have a over hood/at edge of hood zoom level in cab view mode (super nice when needing various levels of first person zoom going through dense forsests). One of those being a 2017 Raptor.
    Video length doesn't bother me generally, whatever works for you and Editor Atlay. 😆 Although, I will admit some non-gaming long form content I've seen go past 3 hours. That I tend to nope out of, or do in bites if I remember. If it's longer than Lord of the Rings extended edition, then it's a case by case basis is all I'll say. 😆

      Thanks. I'm being a bit over dramatic with the tips really... episode 29 was just a bad route, ep. 30 was a moment of inattentiveness reversing the cursed trailer. The tip in this episode was a bit dodgy, I did not think the terrain / line was that bad, but that meant I wasn't really thinking about it enough. 😁
      I like cab view mostly because I drive with a wheel setup, so it's just way more immersive. Also, in the dark I think it makes better footage as you get most of the screen lit up, vs. an all dark view with a cone of light in front, and no good sight of the truck. In daylight, 3rd person definitely makes more watchable content I think though.
      Most of the content creators that I watch do tend toward about an hour duration, and that has worked well for me, but it takes a lot of work to do 3 a week of Snowrunner (not counting Satisfactory, as that is just MUCH easier to edit). I reduced my duration to 35-45 minutes target as my preferred option to make this sustainable... the other option being to reduce from 3 videos per week to just two. 😊👍🏼

    Lol.. I prefer cockpit/first person view myself, BUT, I have a habit of driving off cliffs because of not being able to judge the depth perception.. Way I see it Atlay, it's your game play through, you play the way you want. :)
    Got my Year 1 season pass today.. March 1st for Year 2 and April 1st for Year 3 pass. This game is content heavy, each Year it's like you get a new game.. full 100% playthrough time is in the 200+ hour time frame now.

    • @AtlayGaming
      @AtlayGaming  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! I definitely play my way for the most part, but making content for others also means I try to make the videos watchable. 😊
      Year 1 pass, that's exciting! Apart from a couple 'special expeditions' I am still 'stuck' in the year 1 content. When they announced year 3 I groaned, I don't think I'll ever catch up! 😁👍🏼

    About this thing with time of day when you load a save: The game records the time of day to your save in two cases. 1) When you cross to a new map and 2) when you exit the game by going to the main menu. Here's the kicker: It does NOT save the time of day when you exit directly by using Exit Game, only when you Exit to Main Menu.
    So it's definitely possible to "cheese" it in Hard Mode. When the sun is coming up, exit to main menu or switch to another map. After the, ONLY exit the game through the "Exit Game" option. Also, when switching maps always exit game, then restart the game and reload before doing so, and you'll always be greeted by the morning sun. 😊
    Is it really cheesy, though? In my opinion no, not really. Your driver is going to need sleep at some point or lose his mind from sleep deprivation, and the cab of the truck is right there.

    • @AtlayGaming
      @AtlayGaming  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh my word, I am definitely going to start making use of this! Thank you so much! Not cheesy at all... I get that 'forcing' us to drive in the dark makes hard mode harder, but it's always irked the role player in me that my driver never gets a sleep.
      Funnily enough, as I've mentioned in comments on Friday's series, I'm not fond (as a player) of the option to have perma day in New Game+ mode. It's defintely easier for viewers to see what's going on, but as a player that perpetual noon sun feels weird to me. Some of the best lighting in this game is around dawn and dusk. 😊👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

    • @misha6699
      @misha6699 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AtlayGaming I agree about the lighting. This game has some of the best lighting I've ever seen. That's why in my NG+ game, which I don't really play all that much since it has that irritating feature of trailers and addons being full when you buy them and you can't turn it off, I have the night/day setting to "skippable." That way I can skip if I choose to or not and I don't miss out on the beautiful sunrises/sunsets that this game had unless I want to.
      And I don't always use the "cheese" option in Hard Mode either, as a matter of fact I only use it when I have a particularly hard mission that I need light for. Most other times, I just switch to something "easy" when it's night and go back to the hard task when the sun rises, because I DO love the way the devs implemented darkness.
      Most other games I've played suck at this. When it's night, whatever light source you have ends abruptly at a certain distance and everything else is pitch black, something I've only ever experienced in the service out in the middle of nowhere on an overcast night with a new moon.

    Tough luck with the Azov, I don’t know but it feels like the devs messed with that Azov somehow. I don’t remember it being that tippy, raised suspension or not.🤔 That’s just me though. Great job, nice progress.🤘😬🤘

      I'm pretty sure it was operator error the first two times... bad route choice and then a moment of taking my eye off that cursed log trailer. 😁 The third tip in this episode surprised me, but even then I should have predicted that camber. Mind elsewhere, which as you know is dangerous when operating heavy machinery, in game or not. 😊👍🏼

  • @misha6699
    @misha6699 ปีที่แล้ว

    OK, one more and I'll shut up 😊 You may already know it, but I sure didn't at the time. You'll be needing a lot of planks at some point, and the easiest way to get them is to take logs to the sawmill. Here's the thing I DIDN'T know which made it so, so much more of an easy option: When you turn the logs into planks it's two for medium logs and four for long ones. But it's 2/4 PER LOG, not per load. So one load of long log will net you 12 planks!

    • @AtlayGaming
      @AtlayGaming  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh wow, that is great! So my two lots of medium logs will give me 12 loads of planks. That makes it hardly worth 'stealing' them from people's houses! 😁👍🏼

    • @misha6699
      @misha6699 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AtlayGaming You're absolutely right! I'd been running all over that map, scrounging planks from everywhere and then had to resign myself to hauling logs to make more, thinking that I would have quite a few runs to make. Not so. One load of long logs=12 planks, and the same goes for two loads of mediums.

  • @misha6699
    @misha6699 ปีที่แล้ว

    Oh, and about the Azov 7. Don't feel bad about your tipping adventures. As I recall it has been due to either 1) that infamous log trailer addon (I flat out refuse to turn that one the "right" way for that very reason. Bring out the winch!) and 2) that one truly hideously cambered goat trail, which I also tried once with much the same results. What makes it funny, although you may see it otherwise 😉, is that the Azov 7 is perhaps THE most untippable truck in the game. I can't count the times I've had that girl racing along a camber that I thought for SURE would tip her, only to find that it didn't.
    One tip, though: When you're making a turn like the one in this video, and it looks like you're not making it *quite* tight enough, don't ever hesitate to back up until it looks better, like you started to do. If you'd backed her up a couple of yards more, I'm sure she'd have been fine. I know, I know, backseat driver here 😂
    Which brings me to a bit of advice, since I'm in such a sharing, caring mood today - LOL: That waterlogged trail alongside the lake? Yes, we all hate that. It's not impassable, but it takes an absolute AGE to get through. There's an alternative that the Azov (and Tayga, and Zikz, and Tatra, as far as I know, anything hard to tip) is perfect for: Along the road between the fuel station by the lake and the paper factory, if you're going towards the paper factory there's a trail that veers off to the right and straight down to the rail station. No mud, no boulders, just a bit of camber that isn't dangerous in the Azov and a bunch of stumps next to the station itself that you should NOT try to shortcut across. I used that route all the time with no accidents.
    Just don't use a tippy truck 😄

    • @AtlayGaming
      @AtlayGaming  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! Yeah, the Azov is normally very stable for me, except for the cursed log trailer! As you say, the recent tippyness has been either route choice or that trailer. This video when I backed it up a bit, I stopped BECAUSE of that trailer. Reversing it any distance makes me nervous. 😁
      I think that other route you mention is the one just before the bridge? Although I'm not sure that has stumps. I'll go explore in my normal save. Thanks. 😊👍🏼

    • @misha6699
      @misha6699 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AtlayGaming Yep. As you come from turning left at the fuel station, it's the trail that veers off on the right, right before the first bridge. The stumps are only when you're back off the hill right next to the train station. Tempting, but don't. When something is tempting in this game, it's a Bad Idea™. 😋

      It's what makes it so great in my opinion, even when I'm about to throw my controller out the window. I don't know any games that I hate this much that I can't stop playing. "Just one more try and then, THEN I'll uninstall it and never play it again!"
