Hello. Thank you for this video. Got the Firestick plugged into hdmi and usb, preformed the button back but when I got to back to HDMI, the screen is black, except for the time in the top right corner. Any help is appreciated.

@@GlennCates-it6hf you're welcome 👍. I have the EX and I've heard from owners with the EXL that this hack wasn't successful due to the onboard Navigation system for some reason, which I wasn't aware of at the time of making my video unfortunately.
I just tried it on my 2019 HR-V. I have no CD so no eject. Using the Home Menu and power buttons, it worked. The menu is a little different, but it works!
I have a 2019 GK5 with factory head unit, local dealer disengaged the smartphone connection which CarPlay is not able to use. Is there any way to unlock and re-engage the connection?

@@SonyEnthusiast of course it has hdmi and usb and I have already connected fire tv which works nice but stop when hand brake goes off ! So I try the 3 buttons home power and eject but only shows me the menu to delete the opening apps and nothing more ! I will be happy to help me !

Hey just tried this on the 2019 Honda Odyssey rc1 The HDMI source display has gone rainbow affect. Unable to see anything from the fire stick home page. The sound is working though. Am I missing anything? I have set dd vsp error off .. kust cant see display
I initially set up the stick and pair it with my phone over wifi, then once they've been paired, they remember each other and I don't need wifi to mirror after that. Hence you see me in the video driving beyond wifi range

Yes, that's correct. Once you have memorized what to do, it will become second nature. I can do the hack in less than 10 seconds, but unfortunately, it needs to be performed every time you start your HR-V. However, if your commute is long or you are on a long road trip, then it's totally worth to utilize. There is a permanent fix, but it's worth $300+ and you may lose your LaneWatch capability.

Thank you. And yes, but my phone (Sony Xperia 10 Plus) at the time of making this video didn't support HDMI out so this was the alternative that I still use even though my current phone (Sony Xperia 1 II) does support HDMI input/output. I prefer my whole set up to be truly wireless.

@@SonyEnthusiast Yes, it didn't work, but i found solution. Power button - Brightness button - Menu button 5 seconds works for me, engine must be turned on. Then when hold menu 5 seconds open different kind of menu than yours, DSP option is separeted, i turned it off. Now just waiting fire stick lite to be delivered, to try this function. I have a 2019 civic touring with the honda hack im trying to use an android device, do i need the use the fire stick or there's another way to mirror my phone?
The fire stick is the device used to mirror your phone, so yes it's needed, but it can still work without wifi. Chromecast needs wifi to work, so the fire stick is the best option I've tried and it works as you can see in my demonstration
@@SonyEnthusiast so I didn't drive when I changed the settings. I only put down the ebrake and video plays. Tried to put up google maps yesterday and it didn't work. Everything works until you start moving over 3-5mph. Comes back on when you're stopped. '15 Si and has a second option to turn off in the vsp error menu. Tried that also nothing.

So, to clarify, you need the basic Fire Stick from Amazon. You plug the Fire Stick in the HDMI port under the receiver and then connect a USB cable from the Fire Stick to your smartphone? Please confirm or explain further. Do you need any special app installed on your phone to connect it to the Fire Stick? Thanks for reaching out. No app is needed to install. And yes, you just need the basic Fire Stick (not the 4k version since the screen cannot support 4k anyway). You need to connect it in the HDMI and USB ports of the HR-V. Mirroring is done truly wirelessly. Nothing is connected physically to your phone. Let me know if you got any more questions 👍

I tried the USB-C to HDMI cable doesn't work. Gives me a blank screen. Just bought the Fire Stick tonight and after poking around updating, registering, etc. I plugged it struggled searching for my phone, tried it again and it worked.
If you plan to mirror while you drive, you will need to do the hack each time before you drive. Once you get it down, it can be done within a few seconds like me. Or else you will need to buy a Crux aftermarket head unit around $400+ for a permanent fix. No thanks
I had my car on, did your exact steps, everything went fine until I go to TH-cam to play a song, I go to drive it stayed on for maybe 5 seconds and cut off & said HDMI In 🤦🏽♀️, HELP PLEASE! Lol

Do not use the Chromecast because I tried it first and it needed wifi to operate. The fire stick can still mirror without wifi. I'm using the 1st generation which I updated the OS. No need to get the 4k version because the HR-V screen doesn't support 4k anyway.

BTW, I have the EX trim, so if you're getting an HR-V, be sure to get the EX for this to work. I've heard that EXL owners had trouble.

There's no system update that I know of. Did you turn off VSP error?

Newer Samsung phones can display through a USB-C -> HDMI Cable. Could this mean that the Fire Stick wouldn't be needed at all?
Go try it. My 10 plus couldn't do it with the cord, but this is better since it is truly wireless.
I tried the USB-C to HDMI cable doesn't work. Gives me a blank screen. Just bought the Fire Stick tonight and after poking around updating, registering, etc. I plugged it struggled searching for my phone, tried it again and it worked.

If you plan to mirror while you drive, you will need to do the hack each time before you drive. Once you get it down, it can be done within a few seconds like me. Or else you will need to buy a Crux aftermarket head unit around $400+ for a permanent fix. No thanks
If you plan to not drive, you don't need to do the hack.

I had my car on, did your exact steps, everything went fine until I go to TH-cam to play a song, I go to drive it stayed on for maybe 5 seconds and cut off & said HDMI In 🤦🏽♀️, HELP PLEASE! Lol

Yes. Well I have an iPhone and been having trouble trying to mirror it to the firestick, but I also assumed this would work without the mirroring.
@@BossLadyyTee iPhone, that explains it. Unfortunately, due to the lack of freedom with Apple, you need to use a lightning adapter and possibly jailbreak your iPhone...I've seen a video this is still possible if you're willing to do it.

Hello, wich amazon fire stick are you using? There are 3 or them even without 4k there are two model left. I am asking because at first i wanted to use Google Chromecast TV with remote but soin realised that USB power supply isnt enough so i wanted to make sure i got the right amazon fire stick. Thanks
Do not use the Chromecast because I tried it first and it needed wifi to operate. The fire stick can still mirror without wifi. I'm using the 1st generation which I updated the OS. No need to get the 4k version because the HR-V screen doesn't support 4k anyway.
