    My favourite of all your videos so far. The way you've captured powerful contemplative moments and observations, as well as the sheer beauty of the landscape - and balanced that out with the climbing fun and energy, and the music - takes the viewer on a journey and encourages some reflection of their own. Loved the explanation about meditation (a great reminder I should do that more!). Found your videos from Elsa's bullet journal primer and have since started a journal of my own using some of those ideas. Was great in this video to hear about Barron's journal approach too, and the honesty and emotional depth with which he recounts his experiences is really moving. Thank you for everything you share!

    "Everyone is so polarized, it is hard to have a truthful conversation". Well said Barron and so very true.

    • @markjung2766
      @markjung2766 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not everyone is "polarized". The majority is observing and respecting facts, science and electoral results. Others are just out of their minds!
      Also, that bumper sticker should say "one FEWER sprinter". Hate to play the role of grammar police on here, but I've been drinking. Prolly some grammatical errors in this post.

    Barron your journal entry touched me deeply! You and Elsa continue to live a life I could only dream. At 43, stuck with my mental health and substance abuse issues I continue to grapple with the thought of living my own truth, living off grid would bring me such happiness. Alas, with no funds for an off grid camper, I find comfort in your videos. Thank you both for continuing to inspire. Small town gal in NH

    Why would anyone thumbs down these awesome humans who are living life their way, on their terms, they are respectful to everyone and everything including nature, they share a bit of their lives with us under no conditions and no obligations. I have enjoyed their journey from the beginning and look forward to many more years of adventures from them! Love you Elsa, Barron and Kamp 🐾 💕

  • @ginafercho4581
    @ginafercho4581 4 ปีที่แล้ว +40

    Barron - I agree with you. Everything is so polarized, it is making us more lonely. Instead of being able to share our differences with each other to come to a greater understanding of humanity, it feels people are guarded and angry and become defensive when you question their beliefs. Even if your question is meant in a harmless way to further understand your fellow human. How will people learn and grow if everyone is scared to share their feelings. Is the cause of such anger over questioning ones beliefs due to insecurity of their beliefs? No one can take your beliefs from you except yourself. Anyway, I will patiently wait for the day when we can all talk together again, whether we see the world the same or not and be ok with sharing.
    Elsa - I like woo-woo stuff too :) another thing I've found beneficial in calming my mind and emotions is doing breath work

    Where to start. As always, your videography rocks - perspective, slowness, focus. Elsa sharing her meditation practice and herself. And THEN, the climbing and beautiful music making combined with all of your beautiful laughter and the support you gave each other. That just opened up a whole other box of how climbing can be experienced. So positive and sweet and fun and great. And then Barron sharing how he journals and reading his journal entry. Every second of this video enriched my day and my heart. Thank you.

    I completely resonate with Elsa and Barron’s comments on meditation. It is work that pays back in a big way. (I just started again after a long hiatus and wow.. talk about atrophy!). I also think it’s very cool how transparent you are/were about the pipe. Alluding to the fact that you and Elsa have your conflicts like any couple. One has to be pretty brave to be real enough to expose themselves to the often harsh critique of a social media following. I suspect (hope) that folks who are attracted to you two are kind.

  • @DogGoneDayz

    Thats great Elsa, meditating. I thought you explained it so perfectly. One way that has helped me immensely is looking at each thought as a cloud. Cloud comes and go, so visualizing the thought just having its moment, then blow away, is extremely helpful!

    Helpful to hear the impact of your mindfulness tools. Obviously different for everyone but still good to hear none the less

    Nice job guys. I like the journaling. Thanks for sharing. I have a pipe too, but only use it when I'm in nature which is rare these days.

    I have not been successful with meditation, I need to try harder but I do get a lot of relief from my thoughts by listening to audio books. Right now I am listening to all the free Agatha Christie audio books on you tube as I clean and cook. This keeps me from over thinking and worrying. I am 72 and have just started having health issue that side lined me from life. Enjoy your youth, it is fleeting. :-) Baron you have a wonderful way with words, I am sure writing a book is in your future. Your voice would be so enjoyable to listen to reading an audio book. Take care kids.

      Baron does have a great audio book voice, Elsa too. I hope they put their experiences and thoughts into a book.

    Wow your videos and way of life are awesome! And Barron: your words are wise and made me contemplate my life. Thank you for that!

    I am heartened by the values I hear you and Elsa express in your videos. I am a 70 year old man who spent 40 years in public education. I look at the hate and divisiveness in our country and around the world and I think all those values I spent a lifetime trying to instill in the younger generations has failed. Then I see how you are living your lives and expressing a lifestyle in harmony with the world and I am hopeful. I see the same idealism in my grandchildren and I begin to have hope for the future of mankind. Keep living the life you value, not what others tell you is important.

    Normally your videos are so relaxing for me, but my anxiety was HIGH watching you and Barron climb. Still a great video. Thanks for creating something enjoyable to watch and giving me something to ponder on a rainy day (like today!).

    Thank you so very much!!! I needed this, I have had neurosurgeons tell me that I can get fixed, I'm a lil skeptical. And that won't fix the RA. I so very much miss my whitewater kayaking, hiking, breaking horses and a tiny bit of rock climbing, oh so much more. So thank you for sharing your joy. Please keep bringing us on your adventures.

    That oatmeal concoction was NEXT LEVEL YUM! And, your explanation of meditation/mindfulness was amazing. I just finished 8-week MBSR class and I want to get to where you are sensei. Ok...now Barron's gone to the most amazing view to meditate and journal. This is my kinda vid...part living vicariously through you and part inspiring action. Last edit of my own comment...I will say it...this is maybe my favorite video ever. Simple, loving, living, deep. I'm just 3.5 years from getting out there myself and trying to find moments of it here and there in the meantime. Best to you three.

    3 Words: Epic, Legendary, Poignant. That's what this VLOG was. Really enjoyed hearing Barron's deep thoughts. Would love to hear more of those. When he was describing leaving this gorgeous spot, I was missing it already. And, it made me contemplate what it must be like when you two make a place your home for anywhere from a week to a month and then leave. The emotions. Great Stuff. GOD BLESS and STAY FRESH!!!
