HOLEH! I most likely would have jetted this book across the room had I been sitting down to read it myself. It’s interesting to “listen” to though. I’m finding myself having to “relax” on many levels or listening with more than my ears or mind in order to absorb it. How interesting! Good for you for getting through this out loud!

Yes, it’s quite a particular writing style, but like you say, and Gurdjieff says, it’s not the Bon ton literary style and requires efforts. The story will begin tomorrow 🙏

Yup, I am also doing something very different. I found a loophole within he religious, philosophical, and irreligious world combined. I now bought an entire library of all our root systems to prove it. It is a method and path that isn’t a philosophy and furthermore cannot be unsaid by another. I agree to expand and to not conform… although, my path kinda does conform to everyone while being different at the same time.

@@bookclub5291 the Zhuangzi a new translation of the sayings of master Zhuang , I Ching the Oracle, Tao te Ching by Louis Komjathy, the Digha Nikaya, the Majjhima Nikaya, the Dhammapada, a treasury of Mahayana sutras, the Hua Hu Ching, the Ramayana, the yoga sutras of Patanjali, the tale of an Anklet an epic of south India the Clippatikaram of Ilanko Atikal, the investiture of the Gods (the English one I have is named creation of the Gods translated by Gu Zhizhong the only complete translation in two volumes), the Tattvajnana Dvatrimshika, the gospel of Thomas, Flowers in the mirror by Li Ju-Chen, Braiding Sweetgrass, Walking on the Wind Cherokee Teachings for harmony and balance, the essence of shinto, the tale of genji translated by Royall Tyler, the Mozi, the little book of ikigai, the Ribhu Gita, the Bhagavad Gita, Marcus Aurelius meditations, the complete works of Epictetus, the cloud of unknowing, the odyssey, the Iliad, Ovid, the telegony, the imitation of Christ, the divine Code(the noahide path for those who don’t convert to Judaism), cold mountain translated by Burton Watson, The Travels of an Alchemist the journey of the Taoist Ch’ang-Ch’un from China to the Hindukush at the summons of Chingiz Khan, poems by rumi, and honestly, I have more I like too…
Tolkien did a translation of Beowulf.
Professor Christian Wildberg on Emending the Corpus Hermeticum… I’m waiting for this one to be finished. It is to be the more accurate translation based on new scholarly finds and understanding.
I also have a lot of atheist works I like but not sure you’ll like them. But one atheist satanist book I like that is considered essential is The revolt of the angels by Anatole France. There is also the little book of humanism.
The All-creating King translated by Christopher Wilkinson is an interesting Buddhist text that seems to speak of a supreme God. Although Buddhists interpret it as metaphor and not literal.
An interesting piece of info, A Biography of the Tripiṭaka Master of the Great Ci’en Monastery of the Great Tang Dynasty by BDK English Tripitaka is the actually historical story that the journey to the wests story is based on. Both of which are important works in the Buddhist tradition.

@@bookclub5291 I also like other books that aren’t necessarily wisdom books.
Some of my favorite books were Harry Potter, the Hobbit, the Lord of the Rings, the chronicles of Narnia, the count of Monte Cristo, and the princess bride.
But two of my top books are the Enchanted Forest chronicles which was a kids book series but is still good as an adult cus it is a funny well done story followed by my favorite over all, the dark elf trilogy. It’s a very deep book, the character is filled full of wisdom when you read is diary in between the story. Periodically like three or four times the author writes his main characters thoughts as a diary. Drizzt Do urden was the first time a character from a monster race was made into a good guy. This was revolutionary and unheard of back then. You’ll find out more about this story when you read the forward I think. His secretary originally thought he was joking. The first books in the series was called the icewind dale trilogy where Wulfgar the barbarian was supposed to be the main character but ppl loved drizzt so much that Wolfgar took a back seat.
