- This event was a secret stripped back gig for Sofar Sounds held at Crate Brewery in Hackney Wick, East London.
Sofar Sounds put on small events where you find out the venue address 48 hours before the show, the artists playing you find out on the night.
There were 70-80 people in attendance including some crew members and their manager. The reason there were a lot of The Warning fans in attendance was because Song Kick added them as playing to the event link.
3 artists played and they all played 5 songs each
The show cost just £20

When I first saw a video of these girls, only just watched five seconds of it and i knew they were something special. Then ive seen what they've become and i confirm my thoughts. Just 5 secs. That night i slept till late because i was watching the video over and over. The warning for real.

Was a great evening....soo good to see the girls so up close....I felt very privileged to be chosen as I had only seen them once before, and that was Saturday at Maid Of Stone...Think it may take a lil longer to post my vids though. I think I must have been 2 or 3 people to your left standing at the back against the bar

I think Rockstar got a negative meaning since the 2000...but Rockstar used to be geniune authentic musician ...not only fame sex drugs money...even if it was part of it...
But yes since 2 decades they took the musicianship out of it...
I saw a girl on tiktok using the term Rockstar just because she had attitude...make me laugh
I'd say not just rockstars or musicians but true artists - The Warning figured out with short notice how to play these songs stripped down but keeping the essence of the songs.

That's funny era we are living right now...that we have to precise now that we are witnessing true artists and not fake or cheaters one...is like the minority now
20 years ago evry musicians was able to play acoustic or singer to sing acapella without any problem....now it's amazing
NPR tiny desk has invited all those reggeaton artists couple years ago to sing in intimate acoustic sessions...was pretty awful
Much dont know how to sing without all their effects...and even sang out of tune !
Even Maluma that was cheating by using some great sessions Colombian music performers that add ton of musicality to this original poor simple beat song...just didnt pass the test

Those who've never been on stage may not know this but playing small intimate shows like this is just as hard (if not harder) than big stadiums
For real. Unplugged shows are harder to play and sing
True. I can confirm that. The presence of the audience so close and at the same eye level can prove disconcerting initially. Whereas on stage you are a bit faraway and looking down on the crowd.
@@MrSudeepdas Totally concur. Got to play some really big places with my band before covid. And I can definitely say it was 10 times easier playing to god knows how many people on a huge stage in Romania than it was playing to 30/40 people in a tiny cramped boutique venue in London, when i had like 5 people just a meter away from me staring at my every move 😄
Just in the same vein, I found playing songs solo to my peers at music school infinitely more difficult than when i'd go out and test run them on random audiences in bars. The intimacy man, it elevates everything.

The Warning had a story on their Instagram saying "London Stay tuned for a special event on July 22" then nothing happened. Song Kick then put a link up to a Sofar Sounds event on that date and it had The Warning as playing, so I grabbed a ticket. Check the description for how Sofar Sound events works.
