I did not realize that Michael English was in The Singing Americans. This song was my favorite back in the day. When he hit those high notes I had to go look it up. Sure enough, that was him. Unmistakeable, even after all this time.

This and many other songs like it have always thrilled my soul. I could have died an old lady ten years ago, but the Lord saw fit to call me home later. Now, that I'm an inch or so away from my home-going, these songs make me weep. Will I think to remember them? Will I hear them being sung in heaven? The only thing I'm certain of is, I'll wrap my arms around our Savior's ankles and kiss His precious nail scarred feet. I can hardly wait for that day, for what a day that will be! He, in His great love and boundless mercy, saved a wretch like me. Thank you, sweet Savior Christ.

Ive never heard this song i cantell you all my chuch memorys are flooding back so are tears what a song my mum is from asalvation army back ground my dad lost both his parents age 3 and his brother was18 months they came from a family of 8children the eldest bought the two boys up there eldest sister didnt have kids she loved the boys so much they were gods blessing for her they called her mum

I was privileged to meet Larnelle Harris and his wife when they performed at our church in Orlando. Later that year we traveled in North/South Carolina and were invited to spend some time with Larnelle and his wife. They were such fun, down-to-earth people.
No matter how many times I heard about this song...makes me cry and I thank JESUS for the biggest sacrifice He did on Calvary for me the sinner.
We sang this song in church on Sunday. These old songs are full of blessings.

These are singers I I grew up listening to in person . Began going to concerts in 1960. Jake was part of Imperials along with Armond . Armond sang a mellow bass with Imperials still the greatest group I ever heard . Vestel was a powerful voice . Michael maybe the finest singer/ stylist I ever heard . Larnelle a unique gifted performer .

Well done by all. Jake Hess always favored. Never have seen him, including clips from old tv shows when he was much younger, that he didn't have a smile, even enduring many severe health problems in his time. Smooth, clear voice. Believe he truly lived what he sang.

I wrote I Bowed On My Knees for my Confirmation on Easter Sunday in 1982. It was written in French and I translated it myself.
You most definitely did not write this song, "I Bowed On My Knees" in 1982. This song was written in 1923 by Nettie Dudley Washington and E M Dudley Cantwell. It's possible you translated it from French to English in 1982, but none of these singers based their performance on your translation. Their version is based on the traditional English version that has now existed for more than a century.
