Volk gave Makhachev his hardest fight in their first bout. I think Volk takes this fight but not as easy as ppl are saying. We saw that Makhachev was able to brilliantly hold his own in the striking and edged out points. There’s no reason Illia can’t do the same, I think it’s Volks grappling that will be the differentiator here
If Volkanovski has a clean win or wins at all, I will never doubt him again.

I really hope Volk doesn’t try and prove anything in this fight. I hope he uses his wrestling early and ragdolls this guy. It's going to be a great fight. I've been a fan of volk, I think he's a warrior but this guy Illia, comes from a different mold. His technique is sound, it's hard to find any flaws and he's quite determined. I don't see him being denied. He's hungry and executes his brutal nonstop style until he finishes his opponent. He takes no prisoners. In this fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog that determines the winner.

Been saying this for years now, Volk and Max will stay on top of 145. The UFC made Ilia bypass Max, because they knew Max would beat him, and they wouldnt have a fresh new challenger for the title. Now Volk is going to put a clinic on Ilia. Ilia's chances have risen a bit higher after Volk got KO'd 4 months ago, but it still not enough with he experience gap. Volk is still full on in his prime, and him and Max have 2-3 years of staying at the top of 145 left.
