Sounds good, but that’s not how Syn plays it. He taps with his middle finger while holding the pick between his thumb and the his index finger. He has to play this live… in one shot. He doesn’t get to cut and all of a sudden have a pick. You’re teaching a terrible habit. Learn how to do it right. That’s the thing with this generation of TH-cam guitarists. You guys can play things perfectly while sitting down and having a million takes. Good luck playing it standing up, let alone with the pressure of an audience. He also doesn’t do that stretch from 9 to 14. He does 9 on the 3rd string and hammers 10 on the 2nd string with his left middle finger. This video is nothing but bad habits.
@@synicality6544 yeah I know as I said: it's really really good. I was just replying to OP that this is not perfect, especially the intro. But since this hard as fuck and I've only seen 1 out of like 10000 perfect covers...
Look, I love Yngwie Malmsteen, but Brian has something really special with how he crafts crazy and melodic solos within the framework of their songs. Who else is shredding with neoclassical arpeggios/sweeping in the top of the billboard charts?
Yeah he's definitely one of the best and most well-rounded guitarists in the world in my opinion - able to write crazy complex solos but make them appealing to a mainstream audience
5:21 I had hoped of being able to play this song I got the intro down and most of the song until here 5:21 is where I rethink on how a human is able to do this
@@cashleazott5317honestly took me ages but playing kirks solos (Metallica) really helped to loosen up my wrist especially with Orions solo idk why that and the call of kthulu really loosen my arm up and make sweeping very easy
That's was epic, you are so underrated. 😥 BTW, can you make a full lesson on Buried Alive by a7x only if you have the time. Thanks for reading this comment.
Dude, you are amazing. I cant be the only one to think that it is MUCH easier to learn a song with that cam view. It's just superior for Guitar imo. Thank you for doing this. Immaculate playing. Clean, and great technique.
about 7 months ago I thought to myself I'm gonna learn the simple parts of the intro once I have at least 5 years of experience. here am with not even half of that trying it anyways (send help lmao)
Amazing job on this song! This tab work is helping me learn this song and god damn!! Fuck Syn and his love for sweep picking! 😂 again, absolutely fantastic job and thanks for the tab work!!
Do you have any idea what happened to your Spillways cover? At least I can't watch it or pretty much any other cover of that song. Is it a problem on my end or did TH-cam just do some TH-cam things? Great video btw :)
@@SightlineGuitar Yeah. I would guess it is not permanent. I'd at least hope so because I had just started learning the song and your video was the best I could find. TH-cam just sucks sometimes...
Fuck meeeee bro this is insane , I’m just starting to learn the guitar but fuck me I want to play this but my fingers have a hard time reaching the chord or accidentally playing two chords at the same time ! Any tips??
Thanks for watching dude! I use an Ibanez SA Series guitar through BIAS FX 2... The setting I most often use (including for this video) is pretty simple, with a Tube Screamer emulation going into two high gain amp models in parallel 🤘

There's no way you are real
"this is the hardest avenge sevenfold song I've learned..." Proceeds to play it professionally like he owns the song
Thanks for watching, I appreciate it! I can assure you, many late nights were spent taking in the solos 😂😂
To be fair, he used learned in past tense, meaning he already knows it enough to play it.
This really good but by far not perfect dude
@@niklask7635 at least he completed the attempt to the wnd

This is insane I couldn't even imagine trying to play this song
Believe in yourself mate you've got this 🤘🤘
I can play everything but those sweeps but that's on me for never taking the time to learn
This doesn’t make me want to quit guitar; this gives me hope.
Thanks for watching!
This to me is the greatest solo of all time. Basically the entire song is a series of solos. My favorite part is the dive bomb. So melodic.
It’s easily one of my favourites - thanks for watching! 🙏

how anybody plays the insane tapping part at the end of the intro is beyond me. I've been trying but I can't figure it out.
