Yes you heard me right in the video, and saw I guess! You have to cycle this little 49cc two stroke motorcycle to get her going! The italians never did things conventional I guess.
What do you guys make of this little bike? Museum quality, maybe best kept on a shelf rather than everyday riding?

Oh, this is the conventional way to start a european moped. Even nearly all french, dutch, austrian or german mopeds are starting the same way. But normally you don´t have to cycle it. You put the moped on the main stand and press the pedal downwards. This is the way to start a Peugeot, Piaggio, Zündapp, Hercules, Puch, Batavus, Kreidler etc.
Only the Velo Solex you have to cycle for start because of its front wheel drive.

In Italy and Switzerland there is a big moped community where they tune them like hell with 65cc or 75cc and bigger cylinders
