Post RFID Reads As Keystrokes With Wireless RFID Reader
You have been able to post RFID readings as keystrokes using SerialMagic for years. First, you connect a Scanfob or idChamp brand RFID reader using SerialMagic. Next, you make SerialMagic Keys the active keyboard, then scan. Finally, you would see data ‘typed’ to the cursor location of any application that accepted keyed input. On Android, SerialMagic was the first application you could use to support doing the same with the built-in NFC reader on Android. However, HOW can you do this using the built-in NFC reader on iPhones?
How To Post RFID Reads As Keystrokes With iPhone Built-In NFC-RFID reader
When iOS started supporting reading NDEF and CSN (Card Serial Number) values you naturally would think, how can RFID-NFC readings be posted to the cursor using the built-in RFID-NFC reader of the iPhone? SerialMagic Keys iOS now allows you to post RFID readings from the iPhone built-in NFC reader to the cursor location of any iOS app that takes keyed input. You can post both NDEF readings or CSN readings, you simply pick the option you want.
Install SerialMagic Keys on iPhone
First, you install SerialMagic Keys from AppStore, get the link in the description, or search SerialMagic Keys on AppStore. After installing, you enable SerialMagic Keys in General - Keyboard - Keyboards - Add New Keyboards - and select “SerialMagicKeys”.
Make SerialMagic Keys Active Keyboard
Next, you make SerialMagic Keys the active iOS keyboard. This is done by tapping the globe icon. When your iPhone has multiple 3rd party keyboards, you tap and hold, then select SerialMagic Keys.
Scan RFID-NFC Tags
Thirdly, you tap the NFC icon in SerialMagic Keys, then scan the RFID-NFC tag/badge or badges.
Post RFID Readings To Any iOS App
Finally, you switch back to the app where you want readings posted, then again tap the NFC icon. You will see all the RFID tags/badge scans instantly posted to the app cursor with 100% accuracy.
i downloaded the serial magic keys app on iphone 13 pro max. When i try scanning my RFID key fob nothing happpens
Your keyfob for your apartment? it's probably a LF (125Khz) tag, which iPhone does not read. iPhone reads only HF (13.56Mhz) type tags. Note: there are also UHF (865Mhz) tags iPhone can't read, however serialio.com has idChamp & Scanfob brand reader models that read LF, HF, and UHF
My apologies for not mentioning that it is a key fob for my office building. Is there a way to know what frequency a key fob is just by looking at it?
Typically no. From experience we know that it's almost certainly an LF tag.
dont download this; its asking a full access to your keyboard then it can store all your password and other sensitive data
Every 3rd party keyboard has this warning. This is Apple's attempt to scare you. If you trust Apple more than us, may the Lord help you.

I have some EPC tags from garments. Is there any way to read them with the use of a phone and app of some sort?
Can the iphone read rfid chip of a dog or a cat? It will be useful if i can paste the id directly from the phone
without demo version this price is so expensive
What do you mean?
I have an Iphone 13 pro max and I can not seem to read RFID 13.56 MHz ISO 15693 any idea?
If your iPhone reader is known to be good, likely your 15693 tag is bad. If tag is known to be good, it could be app settings could be wrong.

@@Adhamle_Vargeesu I use it to quickly record the IDs of students attending a class
I purchased "Enable RFID-NFC User Data Reading and Writing Feature" and "Built In NFC Reading" , but nothing happen when I tap to my Student ID card and also my room access key.
Is it possible to copy my student ID card or my accommodation access key to Apple Wallet so that I can unlock and get access to building by only using my iPhone/Apple Watch? Kindly share step by step tutorial
Thanks
i Use iPhone 13 Pro with the latest iOS version 17.0.1
This means your Student ID card is NOT one of the types: ISO-14443, ISO-15693, FeliCa.
It's likely a PROX or iClass or Seos type credential.
Your ID could be read by idChamp NF4x, or RS4x, but not the built-in iPhone reader.
more detail here: serialio.com/serialio-news/write-ndef-using-iphone-built-in-nfc-and-ipad-idchamp-nf4-writer-reader/
Regarding using Apple Wallet, you would need to find an app vendor that supports unlocking the doors of your building using Apple Wallet.
The idChamp RS4x hardware supports reading Student ID from Apple Wallet, but the software vendor controlling the doors would have to support the idChamp RS4x
Do you have solutions for this? e.g a way to copy data form unsupported type card to the supported type you mentions @@SerialioSolutions
does it work without paying for the software
Some features work without In-App-Purchase, some require purchase. We have to buy food and pay rent.
Why mine doesn’t work I need help
