This is the first song to use auto-tune. The effect that makes her voice sound kind of “robotic” is now known as the “Cher effect” and is widely used.
This was (and still is) an incredibly fun song to dance to at the club!!

I think (but not sure) that this is one of the first (if not the first) major song that used autotune. And today pretty much everyone in pop use autotune unfortunately. But either way it's a great song. Cher has a beautiful natural voice and I like it much more without autotune. Cher has had a long successful career and it is still going on at the age of 75. Respect. Her latest album was a cover album with ABBA songs called Dancing Queen released in 2018. Cher is also an actress and has won an Oscar. I like the songs "We All Sleep Alone" and "I Found Someone", they are more rock/pop. Would like to hear your reactions to those songs. Thank you.
