Analysis of the MV
Thyme/Bright:
In the scenes where he is alone, the entire metro is littered with dead leaves, vines, and dried-up roses. Autumn typically symbolizes melancholy, the season where every life fades away and goes dormant. This reflects his loneliness and sadness of being away from his family. Also, just like nature, he is unpredictable and can be violent when you least expect it, referring to his hot temper. However, autumn also represents the end of youth and change, and you can see that Gorya (Tu’s character) is holding a book with roses. This is telling us that Gorya’s appearance will inspire Thyme and lead him to his journey of maturity, that Gorya is the spring that give’s Thyme’s life new meaning.
Kavin/Win:
At the beginning of the MV, his entire surrounding is covered in white plastic. This symbolizes that, despite his pristine and playful façade, he is trapped by his past, unable to escape. He sings “I just feel so lonely” and “I just feel so empty,” expressing his inability to let go and allow others to enter his heart. Towards the middle of the MV, he is finally able to break free (breaking through the plastic) and starts running.
Ren/Dew:
The blue light refers to his ASD. In many scenes, you can see him sitting on the floor and hugging his knees to symbolize his loneliness, inability to express himself and connect with the world. On the surface, he looks calm, mature, and reliable, but deep down, he is in a very vulnerable place, and he feels that no one can understand the real him.
MJ/Nani:
The red light refers to his aggressive and dangerous side, as someone part of a mafia. However, red can also symbolize his love for his friends, and courage. The piles of paperwork might show that he is supposed to be the more “grown-up” one of the group, but that he is drowning in the expectations he has to live up to. He is suffocating and exhausted that he always has to be the mature and responsible one.
At first, Gorya is the one who lends out her hand to Thyme. When all the characters start to run and are finally all in one shot, the lighting becomes a warm yellow, showing the warmth and happiness that the friends provide each other. Suddenly, Gorya is the one that seems lost, and Thyme extends his hand as the other 3 friends wait for her. The metro itself is a symbol of journey and adventure. All 5 of them are on a journey together, and they help each other grow, guide each other, and make sure that no one feels alone.

One thing I can confidently say about the OST is that it is beautifully written. The English translation makes for a beautifully written poem. I’m in love with it ❤️.

My analysis of the ost and characters:
Thyme/Bright:
He is someone who is above everyone. He was isolated, neglected and through his entire childhood he wasn’t taught kindness, mercy, forgiveness or love. In the end this created Thyme to be cruel, greedy, ignorant and also insecure.
Insecure in ways that he is afraid of being vulnerable, comfortable and allowing people to get to know him. He is scared to be like everyone else.
In the OST he is around dark colours symbolism to the dark place he is always stuck in. Almost as if he was never going to escape. Everything is dead, plants are lifeless and this could also hint that he is dead and numb inside, despite being alive.
He also sings about being alone in EVERYONES expectations and how he has no idea what to do. Thyme is almost like a child still, as he has never been taken care of. He has no childhood to become mature of. He refers to this as “no escape” and that he “suppressed so much” so “who can relate?” Thyme is speaking out about himself and that no one ever relates, and he doesn’t even know WHO he is.
Gorya/Tu:
Gorya is seen with pretty colours and princess appearance. Very soft, welcoming, loving and beautiful. This can of course mean that she is so different from Thyme and the other 3, as she is like a whole different universe to them. Gorya has a book with a rose that is alive- for me this just hints that Gorya is the reason Thyme and the other 3 boys are growing. She is the catalyst and the reason they realise how wrong they have been living in toxicity for so long.
In the mid way Gorya gets lost, she was the reason for them to run and escape, get free and start thinking for themselves. Gorya however isn’t left behind. Just like she was there for them, The three and Thyme have waited and hand their hand to her. In the end they are seen talking and laughing, representing a healthy relationship.
Gorya is the specific reason to Thyme finding himself, in the best way possible.
Kavin/Win:
Kavin is much more sophisticated just like his family, he gives the very much of a Prince vibe. Kavin sings how he has everything everyone wants, money, food, house, wealth. He talks about how he has so many admires and that he inspires people. But yet he feels like he isn’t loved enough.
Kavin essentially is someone who speaks out about others, just like to his friends he cares for them deeply and is protective. He will fight for them. Kavin is someone who didnt support poor and rich together and refers to them as their worlds to be so different. He isn’t wrong but he isn’t right either.
Kavin is surrounded by plastics and this to me comes off as his world being fake. Full of fake people. He only wants to inspire people but he is doing it for either his family or himself as he doesn’t know how to identify what’s real or not. Kavin is seen emerging and ripping apart the plastic world and running after his friends. Essentially He realise that Gorya changes Thyme And Thyme being his best friend he follows and trusts him.
The lyrics that tell us “if you could see inside my heart look past a beautiful facade, who am i?” Perfectly describes All three but mainly for me would be Kavin as he is as beautiful like a prince and he is the most surrounded by fakeness such as the plastic and unknown place.
MJ/Nani:
Just like Kavin, he is the friend that WILL fight and protect his friends. He loves them deeply. But again, he is part of Mafia. In a dangerous world kindness gives you a weakness. MJ has common sense and therefore he knows what will get you in trouble and not.
He often says to Thyme he has gone too far. MJ being surrounded by red colours can resemble that he is supposed to be dangerous, he resembles danger and a killer. However, this can add evidence that the red could also mean interpretation to his courage, fearlessness, loyalty and how strong he is.
MJ ran almost immediately after Thyme and Gorya when he has a realisation that he can do so much better in a different world than his own.
He sings about how he’s aching, hurting and alone. He wants someone to lead him, understand him and take him before he simply crumbles. MJ really just gives me another isolated child vibe and the type that was told to “grow up” “be tougher” and such.
You can also say MJ and Kavin love to party as it numbs their isolation and that they are such social butterflies only because they did not want to be alone and lonely like Ren and Thyme are.
Ren/Dew:
Ren is our strong second lead syndrome character.
He loves his childhood friend, this tells us already how much he felt safe and vulnerable. She was his Safe place and Mira knew this. Ren again, is quite a rich and wealthy person but despite having everything he only wishes for someone that loves him as much as he loves them.
He wants unrequited love. He sings how lonely he is and that he’s hurting, no matter what in the end he follows Gorya and Thyme as he wants to keep going with them. He loves Gorya, and he loves Thyme too.
He said there is no escape for him but when he sees Thyme and Gorya running he knew that he has to come with them, he cannot stay in this depressive depth any longer.
The purple and black colours resembles almost ocean theme to me, a dark submerging waves suffocating and drowning Ren as he is heartbroken and deep inside, he knew it but he hid this. For so long he hid his sadness and therefore, he needs someone to be vulnerable before his sadness eventually drowns him.
In the end he runs after them!

This is so beautifully interpreted.
The way F4 were so done with their life and despise it. Gorya comes into their life and helps them fight their own demons and come outta their little shell. The boys fight back and get stronger. But at some point of time Gorya gets tired of all the drama around her, when is about to give up thats when the boys extend their hand to help her and save the girl.

F4 Thailand is definitely one of the best dramas in general to be released in the 2021/2022 era. I can’t wait for further episodes and at the end I’m really hoping the cast and crew can even take the story to a new height for a season two. They’ve all worked so hard and showed so much talent on screen and behind the scenes and only 3 episodes have premiered so far. I’m so proud of everyone!

I live in the US so I don’t know how popular it is over in Thailand or Asia but I guess the amount views each video has just shows how popular the drama is. Every video has at least a million views and the drama barely started! I really hope there is a season 2 with the same cast because the cast along with the drama itself is AMAZING.

What I like about Bright is that he’s just naturally handsome. His eyes, nose, lips all his features are so strong. I don’t think he’s done any plastic surgeries. Not to mention he can act, sing and play guitar!

Tbh I'm a kdrama fan but somehow TH-cam recommended me F4 thailand trailer and out of curiosity I decided to watch it. Believe me when i say that i had never watched a Thai drama in my entire life until I stumbled upon F4.
I was so hooked to the trailer that I decided to give it a try and MANNNNN!! Istg I'm NOT DISAPPOINTED.
The cast, the acting, the ost everything is just so perfect. 💕

Thanks to this I got inspiration to the casting crowns song that shares the same title as this. If you heard of the story of Peter going to Jesus while it's storming yet all Peter had to do was walk. I imagine a sinner who has bruises and dirt all over them and in the same way Jesus reached out his arms in the same way as he did the cross. They walk on water. The ocean underneath represents sins they committed, the storm represents temptation or the sin they'll commit. They drown a couple of times due to guilt but this person keeps getting up and when they get to Jesus to hug him tight their wounds are healed and everything clears up. You may not be a follower of Christ but I just had to share this with you. Yes you are a random person I chose. Yet Jesus loves you and so do I. Never let yourself drown in your guilt and stay safe. I know this isn't the place to spead the word of Christ but we've got to speak up whenever he's not spoken of. If you read all of this thank you. This is a masterpiece, visuals and whatnot.
