- Bruno lost the use of his legs. This hard test does not prevent him from continuing to sail, play sports and live his passion for the Ocean to the fullest. He does not hesitate to say that he discovered a new form of freedom since ending up in a wheelchair.

Following in the footsteps of his previous film, HUMAN, Yann Arthus-Bertrand is now dedicating his next full-length feature film, WOMAN, to women. This documentary featuring thousands of voices and unique life stories narrated by women, gives us an insight into their lives, and reveals the progress made towards emancipation but also demonstrates how much remains to be done. With this new film, Yann Arthus-Bertrand seeks to speak out against the injustices suffered by women across the world. But above all, in this world devised, built and dominated by men where the future is uncertain, the goal of WOMAN is to offer an alternative view. That of women.

Loved every bit from this interview. Very inspirational, very real. Bruno's philosophy is one I can't and won't get out of my head. "It's okay to have a disability". Glad I came across this film.

My heart is melting every time when I watch this video, I adore his philosophy! This interview teaches me and my family a lot. But I need to say that for some reason I feel that it will be a "continuation of his line", even if he says"no". I feel it...! Good luck to him! His philosophy and sense of humour absolutely adorable!

It is said in the Torah that god tests a man only to the degree he can endure. This man sure as hell feels like a strong man, and so his test is one of the hardest, I would not want to be in his place and i would not have endured such an ordeal. But this man gives me a ton of inspiration and I can learn from him about endurance which to me is one of the greatest traits a human can have, if not the greatest.

There's an oak tree that grows in the centre of my garden that I like to call "The Giving Tree" because it is home to about 5 or 6 families of birds, and it provides a TREMENDOUS amount of necessary shade to the lawn. It's been growing at a rapidly beautiful rate, yet I noticed something yesterday-- it's growing crooked. I know this is because I also live on a lake, so my lawn isn't completely flat and is constantly fluctuating in its hilliness. I instantly "grew" (lol, tree joke) to love this, because I love the unique characteristics or "imperfections" of everything that nature makes. The more imperfect, the better. Bruno's statement about nature and imperfection matches this realization that I came to perfectly. We ARE animals, lest we forget, and think about all of the "imperfect" pets that I'm sure you all have had or known. My kitty was born with a developmental growth deformity in her left hip so she walks with this little sassy sway, which is hilarious because she's also a, um....curvaceous little lady, and one of my lizards only has three legs when one got caught in the netting of his cage. I could go on and on about David Bowie's gorgeous eyes and Rhianna's gigantic forehead and MUCH deeper, but right on Bruno. Everything that you said is so on point. And he should move to Berkeley. It's the #1 more accessible city in the WORLD for differently abled folks.

I was lucky to be staying in a surfers house he was staying one winter. He's a fire cracker, a ball of light of a human being and I wish I could meet him again some day and talk more deeply with him

After much thought, perhaps freedom exists only in our mind hence the constant struggle to control our minds and limit our thoughts, the power of any book lies in the ability to unlock the thought process and hence freedom steps in and our minds are able to roam to strange and new wondrous places created by each other, stimulated by our imaginations, perhaps this is our only true power and one we must defend! Everything iz perfect exactly as it iz. What iz it that you are using to make comparisons to determine any imperfections? This iz nothing more than just self judgment. Accept everything for how it appears without the labels, without the comparisons, and just let it be then you’ll see the perfection in everything.

Insightful. I volunteered for 1-+ years in prisons and jails. I remember once a prisoner said to me "Well YOU'RE free!". I instantly responded "I'll be the judge of that." I believe we choose to live imprisoned or freed. Physical circumstances do not dictate our mental, emotional and spiritual experience. :-)

Nature is perfect in all aspects
+Angeli Carrillo I feel like his point is: perfection is a mental abstraction, and we want to be perfect for egotistical reasons, which is very different from trying to improve whatever we can improve. He is referring to accepting ourselves and stop judging ourselves too harshly. And I agree, Nature is perfect.

.. 9/18/15 { 1:16 am }.-________________________________________________________________________________________ .. (( NOW I DON'T KNOW IF BRUNO CAN SEE THIS BUT )) .. I to am handicapped i got my injury by helping some one cut a tree down , where that is not my occupation.I was in the automotive business which i miss terribly. I damaged my c4 and c5 vertebrae;s.I can no longer walk. I also have been restricted to a wheelchair. . I have accepted the physical challenge of me being a handicapped and in a wheelchair. The thing that I'm still fighting is the mental part of it.What advice could you give me rhat would help me get past this. thank you for your time, Chaz.
