I liked him dark. He was complex, 3 dimensional. He wasn't good. He wasn't bad. He wasn't pure. He wasn't evil. He was tortured. And I loved that about him.
still compared even to "decent" humans he is much nicer than anyone "decent" and below would ever be with that kind of power. even most "good people" would be far more evil than he is in the show, especially considered how many times he lets people who are knowingly trying to destroy him again and again, survive their mistakes.

OK the cane bits got intense. interesting how he only hit maurice bc he blamed him for "belle's death" in a way bc her father never went after her, like the movie had BATB, rumple hit hook bc he still saw him as the pirate who took his first wife "milah" and kept her away from their son baelfire. attacked smee bc he helped hook take nealfire's shawl which rumple needed to cross the townline to find nealfire in nyc as cora gave rumple that globe. attacked frankenwhale just for looking@ lacey as he beat keith for making out w/ her behind granny's. if luck would have it. rumple was the better man belle knew he was. he died saving rogers so alice could have her father, man W0W this vid here was only 2seasons. imagine if u made a "rumple tribute" with all7 XD
I think he beat Maurice as a way of expressing his own self-hate for not protecting belle. On the surface it seems like he blames Maurice for Belle’s “suicide” but on a deeper level he really blames himself for turning her away and failing to protect her. He says “my fault? you shut her out. You had her love and you shut her out. She’s gone forever she’s not coming back.” He even tells Maurice “it’s your fault not mine” even though Maurice never accused Gold of anything which shows he really blames himself. I think he also attacked hook because he was immediately threatening Belle In the moment plus what you said about Milah and bae. And Whale kinda has a reputation for being a creep so he attacked him for checking out Lacey. Oh and I think there’s more to why he attacked the sheriff also. Yes it was because he had been kissing Lacey. But On another level he remembered this guy as the one who had tried to make a deal with him to rape belle. Belle clearly was uncomfortable with that in the ef. I think Gold saw the sheriff as a rapist who was taking advantage of a cursed belle who wouldn’t have consented to be with the sheriff if she wasn’t cursed. I think if he honestly thought a guy had good intentions with Belle he would be more understanding like he was with Will
It’s so interesting to see him whack people with a cane. It’s like a second best enjoyment next to just being around the dagger in trying to get rid of it.
I'll admit it is a bit creepy O.o Rumple did used to be a lot more interesting as character though, don't you think? He's changed so much. And of course, as much as I love Rumple and Regina as characters, I can't imagine them together... even if Regina isn't really "Regina."
