I have a 2021.5 FSE 250E that I bought just for Rampart Range. I've been riding there for over 20 years and the 250E is the perfect bike for that place. I've done a few mods like a lithium battery, put an 51t rear sprocket, a new timing key, upgraded carb, removed the "block" off the handlebars, and put a simple kill switch on. It is simple and fun. Glad you guys are showing it off!
I purchased two,EGL250Ls, they were $2995.00 delivered to my house and it took six days for delivery. They have the same KTM stile frame but have cast aluminum subframe with KKE wheels and suspension. We have had them for year now and I estimate we have about 250 hrs of mostly single track in the southern sierras. I have only had to do proper maintenance, oil changes, clean air filters, tires, chains, sprockets and adjust the valves, which I did in about 20 minutes. The build quality is above expectations. Best motorcycle purchase ever.
The Lifan KPX250 is another one to consider at $2900 includes Fuel Injection, 6 speeds, OHC, balance shaft. 20HP claimed. Fuel injection really makes it great. The Kaw Klx300 is probably the standard dual sport, but close to $7K out the door these days.
The stock carburetor is a original nibbi and the general consensus for years at sea level they have been pretty spot on and as always jetting for elevation is tricky especially when your using the stock needle. The sub frame comment I would definitely rephrase because it is in fact a aluminum subframe maybe you were referring to the plastics themselves when trying to pick the bike up other than that I agree 200 percent as most everyone knows I’m a big supporter of this model and actually race mx with one so it’s more capable than most think.
It is odd I have seen a few people say that going to a Nibbi off amazon seems to run better, but I have yet to try it. Any other needles you recommend? You are right I wasn't really sure what the plastics constitute as. My Beta has a plastic sub frame but its solid and I can pick it up from its handles no issues at all. Guess its just that plastic support piece, none the less it needs handles attached to the Aluminum subframe to comfortably pick the back up.
@@pharettface there is a nibbi racing version that is better yes but the stock carb is still a original nibbi the difference is that the racing version has a modified bell and a 10 hole atomizer versus the stock 8 hole otherwise identical minus the fancy coatings on the race version
@@joehenner9769 That's awesome. Good to know, I couldn't really find what the difference was from the nibbi website. Not a whole lot of info out there on what differences there are.
The suspension quality to me is the most impressive thing. Usually stock bikes with turn signals tend to be really soft, especially the Japanese brands.
Great stuff, subscribed. I love riding in Colorado as well, and head up there twice a year for some great mountain trail riding. I used to have an XR250R that I rode for nearly 20 years, but I sold it three years ago and haven't found anything comparable until I discovered these GPX bikes. I'm planning to order one very soon, within the next week! I like the one you're riding, the air-cooled 250. I also have a DR650 that I sometimes take to Colorado when we're planning long rides, it's great on gravel roads and the 4x4 roads in the mountains. But it's hopeless on single track so I need a real dirt bike too. Lol
I’ve been creating a personal spreadsheet comparing all the cheap bikes. Would be fun to hear you review the X-Pro Templar X 250 which is a 3k USD bike (must be the “X” though) as it has the exact same engine as the FSE250E (Zongshen PR250). Would be nice to hear the advantages of what GPX puts together.
Shipped to my door in Maryland, this bike is $4800+/-. For $1000 more I would get the CRF300L, if I could find one. The GPX would have better stock suspension, maybe even faster, but the Honda would be better overall in the long run for just a bit more up front. Release the TSE300 for just under $6k, that would be a great value. Great video of the Chinesium bike on an epic trail though. I won't rant, but still not good to support Chinese industry.
Around here the cheapest I've seen a 300L is around 7k at that price I'd buy any other bike lol. It's more dual sport than trail bike and it's suspension needs about $1k of work to make it close to the gpx and if we compare it to the 300R it's not even a contest at that point with engine power. I'd also wager it has about as many Chinese parts as the GPX given that its manufacturered in Thailand. No matter what dirt bike you buy it's primarily Chinese these days. At least GPX in Utah is taking a big cut of my money. As for longevity too many people already have shown these to be reliable even with high miles or hard riding. Meekers TSE250 was every bit as reliable as our betas or gas gas two strokes over several hundred hours.
@@pharettface A coworker paid $5800 otd two months ago. The Rally is closer to $7k. I wasn't knocking the GPX, I watch these channels because I am impressed with the value. Value vs. Beliefs are why I comment. I've been looking forward the the TSE300 reviews.
@@jonwoodworker Wow thats a pretty fantastic price in the great bike apocalypses we have right now. The prices here at our dealers are usually over inflated so I shouldn't be surprised. Yeah hopefully we can get our hands on the TSE300 here soon. We just started working with Rieju (the real Gas Gas) and I have a MR 300 Pro coming for review and eventual rentals. I am also pretty excited about their bikes too.
@@ronluning we might be able to work out a deal. Do you have all the street legal stuff? Did you figure out the hesitation you were having? I'm in Columbia.
I do wonder how the this bike compares to the Templar X, same motor and appears to be the same frame. The X has KKE suspension with rebound and comp adjustments with a price under 2k. The GPX will have better backing but at double the price?
I have been doing the research on the Chinese dirt bikes. Long story short his first videos, he loved the fse 250. His last videos had him on a 2 stroke and I asked why. He replied he cracked the frame, junk plastics, terrible customer support (I am being nice here). Everybody else gives gpx high praise. Does GPX have a warranty? Thank you.
Junk plastics are kinda funny given it's the same factory that makes the real KTM plastics haha. Not everyone is going to have a great experience with every company or maybe they have very high expectations for a $4500 bike. a FSE250 is not a KTM, you aren't paying that kind of money. That being said we have had 6 in our rental fleet and they have all been very good bikes with minor issues. Parts are also very easy to get. As for customer support that I don't understand GPX is generally very well praised for having quite good support. As a dealer they have gone above and beyond for us. Some people also just do not know how to work with or approach companies. Over all the quality of GPX is good and the FSE 250 makes a good trail bike. I still have this one in my video in our rental fleet. It's had no issues. 12 month warranty I believe is what they come with.
@@pharettface Thanks for getting back to me. I have only read and heard good things about GPX. And in the same breathe I am concerned if I ‘don’t read anything negative’. I am thinking a rental bike harshest of circumstances. Maybe that dude had a bad attitude by nature or didn’t get some boom boom. (Ha ha). Who knows. I am old guy, I don’t expect the quality of my KTM 350 sxf….and I have never come close to riding the KTM to its potential. Your reply will help me convincing the boss to buy either the 300 4 stroke or the 230 2 stroke. Thanks again!!!!!
@Exitwoundstudio IMO the TSE250 is the best value hard core dirt bike. That little two stroke is a blast and has more parts availability with its DT230 motor. But that being said if you dual sport at all the two stroke is miserable on roads. Also, keep in mind the updated 250E is coming soon with fuel injection and dual over head cams. It'll be a huge update.
Thanks for answering my previous questions. Of course I have more. Does the fse 300 have pollution hardware like the klr 300 does? The boss knows about Kawasaki, and nothing of gpx until now. How can I convince her gpx is superior? Thanks again

@@pharettface I had no idea there were any trails like that anywhere near Denver. Nice! I've never ridden anything in that area, but that's because our place is much farther south and west, not too far from Westliffe.
