Greeting ghouls and ghosts! Our names are Jason and Kali, and we are the horror couple of your dreams- or nightmares! Jason has been a film nut for over 30 years, and Kali has a hyper-fixation with horror and slashers. Together we spend most of our waking life watching films and obsessing over them. We record movie reviews and discussions weekly, and love watching and talking about both lesser known and popular films in the horror genre. Occasionally we also review comic books, video games, television series, and novels. Additionally, we also enjoy making short horror videos. The food at the diner is good & they have Jason memorabilia all over. Got a t-shirt with a knockoff hockey mask on it.
The Fact that Jason Vorhees has the ability to possess people and give them freakish strength as seen in the film Friday the 13th part 9 could totally be a possibility that Jason possessed Pamela Vorhees (Giving her demonic jason vorhees strength) as his first onscreen possession hence the little kid voice she does could totally be jason through some sort of mother son psychic bond and made her go on a spree.just a theory Also mrs. vorhees/jason shot Brenda with an arrow while she was at the target range sorta like a fatal mimicking gesture of what neddy did to her earlier off screen of course. Imo Friday the 13th 1 is a great rainy day movie.great review

You wouldnt expect a masterclass in subtext from F13, but when she says 'Jason should have been watched, every minute! He was...' she is about to say that he was a special needs kid, but instead, she just says 'he wasnt a very good swimner' fucking brilliant

I was wondering if you'd ever recover the classics now that your channel has become it's own new thing now Kali has been here for a while and brought her own to it.

I don't think Marci literally had a premonition. I just think her reuccuring dream happens to represent her death symbolically. It's a thematic choice, rather than a plot driven one.
I'm not in love with the original, but it has three of the creepiest scenes in the franchise. Brenda being stalked by Pamela in the bathroom, Marci's description of her dream and her (unknowingly) alluding to her fate, and Brenda being lured into the woods are my favorite moments from the film. Spooky.

Fun Fact Bill was actually playing the Guitar! The Song is called ‘Varmlandsvisan’ Harry Crosby ate.
But he wasn’t playing that song we hear unless it was dubbed in cause it didn’t match up.

The 1980 David Hess xmas slasher (To all a goodnight) is pretty similar to this film a little to much but both equally good and both have mothers as the killer and both have a crazy Ralph character but doesn't surprise me cause the Friday the 13th franchise borrowed a lot from other horror films just saying. also the waitress Sandy could serve me up a slice of her hair pie and i would not deny unlike Steve!

I think the reason Mrs Voorhees’ grave marker says Died in 1979 is because the movie started filming in 1979 but released in 1980 and that throws the date off a year.
But it isn’t till part 4 we see the grave…

Random thought...what if Jason was alive during this movie. Pamela initially thought he drowned but then found out later that he was still alive or resurrected. She made Jason help her stage/clean up all the bodies but stay out of sight because she wanted to be the one to exact revenge on everyone. That would explain how Pamela was able to get Steve Christy in the tree and pull off the feat of throwing Brenda through the window while seconds later driving up in the Jeep. The voice that Brenda heard...was it Jason? That also would explain how Jason knew Alice killed his mom(2009 remake). Saw VI vibes? Pamela and Jason working together behind the scenes?

@SinisterCinemaReviews I have only seen parts 1 through 3 of the original paramount tapes run of these but, that’s about to change tomorrow as all 8 of these paramount tapes entries are on Max streaming service right now and I was about to play some Mortal Kombat XL as Jason tomorrow afternoon probably and thought why the hell not, I’ll watch 1 through 4 tomorrow and 5 through 8 on Thursday probably
Not only do they kill a snake, but apparently it was someone's pet and they didn't tell them about it. So part 2 should have been about the owner of the snake getting revenge.

Alice is actually in the boat and actually wakes up and sees the police and then falls in the water. Thats why he says we thought you were dead too. And in part 2 the dude says how some girl paniced and fell out of a canoo

An important groundbreaking film where horror flicks are concerned, and Savini is at his best. Still not my fave of the bunch. And wow does Stevie Christie come off as pervy and disgusting in his porn moustache and bare chested look.
