Philadelphia City Hall is the seat of the municipal government of the City of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, housing the chambers of the Philadelphia City Council and the offices of the Mayor of Philadelphia. It is the largest municipal building in the country. Topped with an iconic statue of Philadelphia founder William Penn, the 548-foot tower is the tallest masonry structure in the world without a steel frame, and it was the tallest building in Philadelphia until 1987.
The public rooms are among the most lavish in the city; the City Council Chamber, the Mayor’s Reception Room, Conversation Hall and the Supreme Court Room are some of the most ornate.
As of July 2021, guided tours of the exterior of the building are available, with tours of the interior and observation deck on pause due to COVID-19.
It was a beautiful day in Philly PA and the sanitary situation had improved.

Wow, and to think years ago there was talk of tearing the city hall building down! Beautiful building and other buildings and statues surrounding it. It is also very pedestrian friendly!

Largest city hall in the nation.
Take a good look because nothing like Philadelphia's city hall will ever again be constructed in all probability. Construction of this building began in 1871 and was not finished until 1901. It would cost billions to build today IF you could find the artisans to do the work!!😅
