So the name origin of Bleach comes partly from the main characters hair color, but it was also originally gonna be called White since the author wanted to focus on a lot of dynamic use of black and white ink for visual storytelling (which he does still do) and since Shinigami wear all black it would be kinda a hint to Ichigo being a different kinda soul reaper, but he eventually settled on bleach.

Just finished the first part of the new season and I’m so glad you guys have started the series. It’s a little rough around the edges when it comes to pacing and censorship because of the way anime was handled back then, but that doesn’t change the fact that this is a fun ride and definitely worth it.
Bleach was released in 2004 and ended in 2012. 10 years later Bleach is back with the title "Thousand Year Blood War" adapting the manga's final arc. If you want to catch up the anime, you have to skip the filler episodes which are not related to the story: Episode 33, 50, 64-109, 128-137, 147-149, 168-189, 204-205, 213-214, 227-265, 287, 298-299, 303-305, 311-341, 355. Anyway have a great time watching this amazing anime.
That's alot. I also haven't watched it and planning to do a watch along with them. Is skipping those episodes really does absolutely nothing? I also searched that it has 366 episodes and that's alot. I don't really wanna spend so much time watching, the best I can do is 3 eps per day for 4 months.

I don't want to hear any arguing from people that started watching it before being 18, it is nostalgia talking through you. I understand why people enjoy it but I don't share that feeling, it is simple, happy story, about bad/good guys vs bad guys or good guys or good/bad guys.
One thing about the anime is that it is heavily censored so it was able to be aired during daytime television, so a lot of injuries and such are often depicted as just a slash when characters get dismembered, and that little girl ghost got eaten by the hollow that was chasing her before it attacked Ichigo’s family
