I have so many fond memories of listening to her throughout the 70s, starting with 'The Divine Miss M' (1972) album. Her 'Live At Last' (1977) album is one of the funniest and bawdiest performances I've ever loved. Then all through the 80s, 90s, and right up to now she's been all over my life's soundtrack, and it's been just divine.💖
Johnny Carson knew this woman's worth. When he left his decades long run on The Tonight Show he asked only that this magnificent woman would come and sing. And sing for him she did. It was beyond special. Because it was Bette. And he adored her. You must see THE ROSE. Forget the other movies. She poured her heart, as well as her immense talent, into that story and performance. I mean no disrespect here, but Hocus-pocus is nothing compared to it.

Beaches is my favorite movie of hers. And it has a great soundtrack to it as well. The movie is touching, beautiful movie about friendship. They recently made a remake of it and it just didn’t get the feeling that the original cast did. I feel the same way about the movie Annie. You will never be able to recreate the magic and humor of the original.
