Just ordered mine with the 3rd Party clip cause I didn’t want to risk damaging it if I carried it on my pocket. I know I wouldn’t use it on my belt to often that’s why. Hope I made the right decision. I’d rather break the pocket clip then the whole thing!
Just an FYI, sometimes the armored versions can be a tight fit. If it is: Boil the holster in water for a few minutes, then shake off the water and dock the tool while the plastic is still warm. It will result in a perfect fit.
I just received my ARC Holster, and I am very pleased. The quality of the finish for a 3D Printed Part is excellent! Without knowing beforehand, I would never guess that this holster is a 3D Printed Part. I am also very impressed with the fit of the Leatherman, the bit driver, and the flat bits. I was concerned that 3D Printing wouldn't allow tight enough tolerances to control the fit between all the parts and the holster, but everything fits perfectly. Can you tell me what tolerances your supplier is holding for you? My only unresolved concern is durability. I will have to use my holster for a while before making any judgments, but I have high hopes. Congratulations, Excellent Product!
The parts are made by Shapeways, in general the tolerance is +/- 0.2mm. Occasionally someone gets a holster too loose or too tight, but boiling the holster in water can soften it to get a perfect fit again. The holster is solid Nylon 12. The printing process is Selective Laser Sintering.
I purchased the barnacle bit for the Arc and hold the leatherman Mut long Phillips/slotted bit. It fits pretty well and It helps for when you need to get into a recessed screw or when you just need that much more length. It be interesting to see the development of a barnacle bit designed specifically for the mut bit in the near future.
@ZapWizard I still have access to the scissors the way I have it right now. I have the mut bit sort of centered on the barnacle bit, but I do see that if you would extend the barnacle bit higher, it could possibly get in the way of the scissors tab. Maybe if there was a way to off center the barnacle bit to hold the mut bit slightly closer to the middle of the tool, it could leave more room to access the scissors. Anyway, thanks for the hard work. Can't wait to get my holster in the mail.
@@JamesMiller_ShadowWalker I've found it quite useful. Now that I have the sheath I've been carrying the long mut bit on the side of the holsters where the volty swith and the additional bit underneath would be. The volty bit I have just been storing in the Leatherman ARC it self.
I bought one can’t wait to get it got the third party clip one plan on pocket carrying it cause I’ve gotta work a harness at work a lot thanks for the awesome deigns!!
I've sent you an inquiry from your *contact me* section, about an idea of making an "armoured lite" version, somewhere in between the open face and the armoured version
I replied via email, but also here for others who may have a similar idea: Having an open face with front bumpers is a good idea, I may do it someday, but currently I have a lots of updates to previous holsters to get done.
Do these armored sheaths work okay with the Garage #5 by chance? Or any plans on making an armored version for the Garage #5? Have had the Garage #5 slide out a ways on the 'open face' sheath mad for it. Was going to try and modify it, then saw these armored versions you offer for the Arc series. Was am wondering if I should wait?
Hi, with respect to bit holder: once attached (BDU or Duty Loop) to access the bits I'd have to take off the holster, right? Is there some attachment to the belt itself that uses the tear shaped opening on both for fast detachment in such case?
You can get the Third Party clip compatible, and then add a clip of your choice, or the Open Clip, but the open clip is weaker and for light duty use only.
I know this is probably annoying but why isn't there a middle option between side grips and slim no side grips? something like 4 bit holders either side like the previous P4 holsters. Specifically for the horizontal version.
@@ZapWizardhaha yeah I figured, that's why I said it might be annoying for you to do that... Cause it's a pretty big jump from the side holders to nothing at all
The no-bet option with side grips. It has 16 bit holders on the back. If you don't want the rear bit holders, I would have to make a new variant. Another option is the third-party clip. Which has 7 bit holders, and without an added clip is quite slim on the back.
@@ZapWizard Thanks - I definitely would like it to still clip it to the inside of my pocket like a traiditonal picket knife. It sounds like the best option for that may be the third party clip.
I have a question will a no name brand. Leatherman non raching bit extender. Fit in the Ark holster on the BDU holster. If it looks the same with the groves side by side. Thanks really looking forward to getting my BDU Holster from You. Thanks again.
@@ZapWizard I’m just a visual person mate. I almost bought one yesterday but I need to see more pictures and explore all the options. However, thank you.
@@sphan6949ah I see. That will probably be coming soon. I will be making my own parts, and therefor can experiment easier as prototypes will now take less time and money n

You need to make that horizontal carry sheath into a belt buckle!
just finished duty and saw this ! finally released!! just ordered, thank you so much :)

I did actually look at that, but the issue was it would block the scissor thumb tab.

@@Ever_al95 Actually the offset is an interesting idea. I may look at doing that later.
I like that bit too! It reaches into electronic housings quite well.

How’s it working ?can’t decide whether to get light duty or 3rd party clip! Rather break the third party clip than the whole thing.
What I would like to see instead would be a belt clip just for all the accessories and then a slim version for the tool I decided to carry.

Could you make a video of you shaking it so people can see how well it stays in the holster.
I do plan on making a traditional video to add to the product page. Otherwise I do that a few times during the live stream.

I just got my arc holster, really nice but you do have to break it in, tight tolerance
Ya. There is a bit of a break in period. With use things will smooth out.
Just ordered one discount code did not work. Maybe I’m too late. Thanks can’t wait for it.
I guess I didn’t make it clear enough in the email. The discount code is only good on the T-Shirt or Desk Mat.
do you recommend any specific 3rd party clips i could order? im in the UK. i absolutely love this product, cant wait to get mine.
The recommended clip is theclip.com model 661. But it fits most any clip that has vertical inline holes.

ever try having lanyard loop mounted on backside with barnacle bit on front side and putting in holster?
I did actually, the issue is that it puts a cut in where the belt loop needs the most strength.

$34 for shipping one holster and a mat. Yikes
Ya,sorry. I don’t have any control over the shipping costs. The two drop ship style vendors also each charge separately.
I forgot to add its on Amazon. The no name brand bit extinder.
