    I grew up cooking on one of these. Mine is from the 60's-70's from my parents. Of course it needs all new racks, wheels & a couple of frame pieces but smoked many a turkey on it. One day I hope to get new parts & grill on it again.

      My research indicates my newest grill (pk from Little Rock) was made in the early 60s, only one top vent, but 2 bottom vents. Red handle on the lid

    How tall is Aaron Franklin? He said that the AF stands taller than the other PKs but he seemed to be hunched over quite a bit.

    • @ericl8821
      @ericl8821 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah unfortunately it’s only 30” to the grilling surface, so technically the PK360 is taller at 34”. Not sure why they don’t make them taller. Bummer, almost a deal breaker for me.

      Agree! I’m 6’2”. Ain’t no way I’m laying down that much cash to hunch over a midget sized smoker. Someone needs to tell their hipster Product Designer that Americans are 6-7 inches taller now than they were in the 1950s!!

      POSTSCRIPT. I've had my PK AF for going on 3 months now. I've cooked, prime rib, tenderloin, ribeye's, duck breast, prime NY strips and this last weekend, baby back ribs. ALL OF THEM SPECTATULAR. It takes some time to learn how the heat is managed in relation to the meat temps, but wow I've never cooked, grilled etc better than now. Great flavor and tender!!!! I'm using TherrmaWorks Blue Dot a pen and just got a Meater plus. Really a spectacular smoker. I added some GrillGrates and make FOOD TV ready ribeyes. Incredible never have to worry about flareups.

      He only makes money if you buy them. If sales are slow or not to expectations, they'll pull it. I'm sure he got a nice deal with some $ up front, but, that's cool. People pay lots o' money to watch grown men play kid's games. If Aaron can market his name to more money, that's ok with me. Myron, Johnny Trigg, Tuffy, etc., all making bank while they can. 10 years ago, no one heard of these people and there were like, 2 grillers on YT. It's its own cottage industry now. Everyone is making and selling rubs and sauces. Traeger and Weber went public a month or so ago. Lots of money we are spending in this stuff. At least most/all the grills are made here.
